Trump plans to divert $7.2 billion from Pentagon for border wall construction: report

President Trump plans to divert $7.2 billion from the Pentagon to go toward border wall construction this year, an amount five times greater than what Congress authorized in the budget, the Washington Post reported.

This would be the second year in a row that money is redirected to the wall on the U.S.-Mexico border from military construction projects and counternarcotics funding.

The administration will take $3.5 billion from counter-drug programs and $3.7 billion from military construction funding, according to internal planning figures obtained by The Post, compared to $2.5 billion and $3.6 billion, respectively, last year...

A total of $18.4 billion in federal funds has (will have) gone to the border wall during Trump’s presidency. The plans indicate that this new boost of funding would allow the administration to build about 885 miles of new fencing by spring of 2022, more than the 509 miles planned for the border, according to the Post.

She believed so much in the wall that she relentlessly attacked the only politician willing and able to get it built as he was working out the details. Coulter is either a fraud or she’s a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum because in the real world it sometimes takes time to get things done. I’m voting for fraud.

She may have been among those that said Trump failed for not having the wall built within his first 6 months.

Ditto.

Now let’s keep the Senate and get back the House.

Well capitalized for 2020 campaigns. RNC, NRSC, and NRCC on the hotseat. Tough battles with ARI, CO, and Maine. Maybe lose all three but get AL and Manchin to flip. Only need 18 to get House back. Very doable.

Super worried about voter fraud preventing the above.

Like I said,

Saying the money is being “diverted” is misleading: the money is going for legitimate defense purposes.

“By spring of 2022”

Exactly when it should be done, some now, some later - so it remains a potent issue in the 2020 election.

“Too much winning” is actually a thing, as if you win too much, too quickly, then voters tend to forget about that and focus on other issues in the next election.

“Actually, I’m glad that Ann Coulter has held Trump’s feet to the fire on the wall and other immigration issues.”

BULLSHIRT!

Ann didn’t do shinola! She’s just a big mouth broad, that I USED TO like.

Trump wouldn’t let Ann hold his feet or anything else!

Trump has been fighting the Democrats and the courts from day ONE! It’s downright AMAZING what he’s been able to accomplish, in spite of the constant carping from Ann.

So, giving Ann, even a scintilla of credit for Trump’s accomplishments is RIDICULOUS!

Holding Trump’s feet to the fire? My A$$!

Hey Ann, “Buck up, or stay in the truck”

You seriously believe that Trump was ready to give up on what was probably his biggest single campaign promise but then decided not to all because of some bitching by Ann Coulter? You’ve got to be kidding. Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?

Another ‘Ann kept his feet to the fire” troll. She can’t even make up her mind from one day to the next, who she supports or what she believes. Mrs. Romney can’t even hold her own feet to the fire.

I agree. Trump needs to keep hearing the truth on this from his base.

He could have prioritized this sooner and there is still much more that needs to be done before this country’s out of the woods on the mass Democrat-import project. Such as with the 10s of millions of illegals here currently. Issues such as enforcing the actual Constitution on anchor babies. Throwing illegals currently here back out again. Standing stronger on importing cheap labor than the Chamber of Commerce, Silicon Valley, and ag lobbies want him to.

“He could have prioritized this sooner...”

And you know this, how? How much experience do you with getting legislation passed - especially with an obstructionist Congress? The wall funding is a patchwork if various sources that were pieced together by arm twisting and creative budgeting on the part of the Trump administration. And none of that would have mattered had Trump (and McConnell) not confirmed record numbers of circuit court and Supreme Court judges over the past 3 years. Without that all his efforts would have been overturned by activist judges.

Lots of stuff he has the executive power to do on his own—and hasn’t.

only if trump was a dictator would he have been able to get it done faster. There are rules that have to be fallowed and it was fallowing the constitution when dealing with road blocks by bureaucrats and the Demacrat party that has made it so Trump has only built a small portion of the wall. I don’t know about anybody but myself. I want no dictator and I want the constitution to be fallowed even if it means the wall does not get built immediately.

Bottom Line: A solid job of effectively securing the whole Southern Border in the first term

Did you even bother to read what you posted?

"The plans indicate that this new boost of funding would allow the administration to build about 885 miles of new fencing by spring of 2022"

2022 is not within Trump's first term.

There is no doubt in my mind That Ann is a major reason why Trump has been extra aggressive the last year on the all funding .

You forgot the sarcasm sign. Oh, you were serious? Right, Coulter is the reason Trump does things. Ridiculous.

Maybe it will be ignored....

It will be until the Campaign heats up and Trump will be able to trumpet his success on the issue that got him elected - HUGE.
