Before we attained net energy independence if we cut off Iranian oil supplies it raised prices which was a help to many of our sworn enemies. Now when prices go up most of the additional profits stay here. The benefit to the energy exporters who hate America is less than it was, and the pressure it puts on China, North Korea, and other energy importers who we have adversarial relationships with is greater than it was. Almost every move President Trump makes illustrates to everyone that despite decades of losing influence, that the USA is still in the driver's seat.

The need to be weaned from fossil fuels, the need to appease international bullies by not using our military, and the right to free higher education, free medical care and all the other rights that aren’t rights, is what’s killing off the Rats. Metaphorically, of course.

Caroline Glick is a true genius here, in the article “Donald J. Trump and the Mythmakers”. That was the clearest explanation of the past 40 years of BS concerning the US relationship with Iran and Israel that I’ve ever seen. It even makes sense to me, and sort of explains TDS a little. Not justifies, but explains.
