This will be a weekly post.
Count remains at 185 judges confirmed.
133 District Court judges
50 Circuit Court judges
2 Supreme Court justices
The Democrites really had a bone for Eleni Roumel - probably because she's Federalist Society.
Jan 8 Confirmed, 51-47: Executive Calendar #462 Eleni Maria Roumel [Federalist Society member] to be a Judge of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims for a term of fifteen years Jan 8 Confirmed, 89-8 : Executive Calendar #329 Matthew H. Probably none until after impeachment trial. I predict the next batch comes around February 10th.
I was glad Roumel finally got confirmed.
There are very few awaiting confirmation on the Senate Floor at this point, most got returned to the President. I think the 5th Circuit nominee will not be renominated. Brascher for the 11th circuit has already been resubmitted by the President. There are 22 nominees pending presently, most at the Judicial Committee hearing stage.
On The Senate floor
District Court:
Diane Gujarati, of New York
Robert Anthony Molloy, of the Virgin Islands
John Fitzgerald Kness, of Illinois
Silvia Carreno-Coll, of Puerto Rico
Philip M. Halpern, of New York
Barbara Bailey Jongbloed, of Connecticut
Tax Court:
Travis Greaves, of the District of Columbia
You got that right!
Every single one of em
That includes Manchin!
That includes Doug Jones!
That includes Sinema!
Just wanted to beat that into the heads of all you people around here who think Manchin or Sinema is your friend.
Thanks for the heads-up on the District court queue!
Been a while since I looked at that.
Manchin and Sinema goosestep right along with the rest of them, when the chips are down.
True, but Mitch slammed through 11 of them on the last day of the session last year.
There are many pending nominations (but the list is getting smaller over time); but most need to be extensively vetted from scratch by the FBI, especially at the Circuit Court level, as this would be the first Federal position for most. Appeals Court nominations that are promotions from the Circuit Court only need updated vettings.
Loves me some Leader McConnell.
Hopefully, Mitch is gonna own Granny Botox in the next couple of weeks, then get back to slamming through judges.
Just wanted to bring this tracker to your attention. Excellent graphic depiction of where we were & where we are.
Thanks, Jay! Safe Covid to you and yours!
As of today, there are 76 vacancies on the Article III courts, and 33 nominations pending to fill those vacancies. Of the remaining 43 vacancies that are awaiting a nominee, 9 (21%) are in red states, 30 (70%) are in blue states, 3 (7%) are in purple states, and 1 (2%) are in states (or for courts) that have no senators.
I really enjoy these numbers here.
The Lefties in the Senate think they're being clever by holding "their" seats open - but they're actually crushing their own judges [since those courts are blue anyway] with overwhelming caseloads...
Enjoy, lefty judgescum.
Yes.
CA (17 judicial Emergencies out of 17 openings) 13 nominees
WA (5 Judicial Emergencies out of 5 openings) 0 Nominees
NY (4 Judicial Emergencies; 7 total openings) 1 nominee
NJ (6 Judicial Emergencies out of 6 total openings) 1 nominee
Those 4 states have 32 of 46 National Judicial emergencies.
Mitch says he is resume filling seats in May.
I hope he is raring to go. My insurance plan for Nov is to have no seat left unfilled. I expect POTUS to sail to re-election but a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

Any word on when the GOP Senate Majority Leader is going to schedule a vote to confirm the outstanding DNI pick of a GOP POTUS?
John Ratcliffe was presented to the Senate for DNI formally on March 2nd. His nomination is not yet on the Senate Floor.
According to Politico
It will be weeks before Ratcliffes confirmation process moves forward in the Senate, though there are no signs yet that any Republicans plan to oppose him as they did when Trump first tapped him for the job in July. Senators havent warmed to Ratcliffe, exactly the White Houses strategy of placing Richard Grenell, the fiercely loyal ambassador to Germany who is seen as a nonstarter on Capitol Hill, in the acting director role seems to have forced their hand.
(CNN)Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday withheld his judgment on President Donald Trump’s pick of Rep. John Ratcliffe to be the director of national intelligence, saying he would wait to see how the Texas Republican performs during his confirmation proceedings before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
But comments on Monday from other key Republican senators — most notably Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr of North Carolina — signaled Ratcliffe’s nomination was in a stronger position with Republicans then when his nomination was pulled last year, which will be crucial to his confirmation chances amid staunch Democratic opposition.
Asked if he supports Ratcliffe, McConnell told CNN, “I’m waiting to see how the committee process goes. I’m certainly not opposed to him but I want to see how he does before the committee and get a report from Burr and the rest of them.”
Burr told CNN on Monday that he supported Ratcliffe’s nomination, after issuing a statement on Friday saying he looked forward “to receiving Congressman Ratcliffe’s official nomination and ushering it through the Senate’s regular order.”
“I’m supportive of John Ratcliffe. That’s what the statement said. Period,” Burr said.
