WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Boeing Co has released hundreds of internal messages that contained harshly critical comments about the development of the 737 MAX, including one that said the plane was designed by clowns who in turn are supervised by monkeys.
The messages, disclosed on Thursday, show attempts to duck regulatory scrutiny with employees disparaging the plane, the company, the Federal Aviation Administration and foreign aviation regulators.
In an instant messaging exchange on Feb. 8, 2018 - when the plane was in the air and eight months before the first of two fatal crashes, an employee asks another: Would you put your family on a MAX simulator trained aircraft? I wouldnt.
The second employee responds: No.
The 737 MAX has been grounded since March after an Ethiopian Airlines flight nose-dived, just five months after similar Lion Air crash. The two disasters killed 346.
In particular, some of the communications reveal efforts by Boeing to avoid making pilot simulator training - an expensive and time-consuming process - a requirement for the 737 MAX.

Unless there were specifics, such talk between employees is not unusual.
I won’t ever set foot on a Boeing plane again.

If it’s Boeing, I ain’t going!
Yep.
I’ll walk first.
Boeing is done. Stick a fork in them. Senior management will be lucky to avoid prison.

Is that an accurate summary of all the messages or is this a selective sample of the worst messages used as Fake News?
That one was just a ‘teaser’ headline.

This is Boeing’s version of the de Havilland Comet.
No matter how many improvements / upgrades / design changes Boeing makes, this plane is doomed.
Yes, they might as well scrap every one of them............................
It’s not done. Besides planes they do business in rockets, satellites, telecommunications equipment, and missiles .
They fired the CEO in Dec.
My guess? Diversity in the workforce. Unqualified persons hired to hit quotas and tasked with work beyond their abilities. This is the inevitable result.
Countdown to those blaming “foreign” pilots for the problems....

That doesn’t answer the question. Are the excerpts an accurate summation or are they selective Fake News?

It wont matter. Theyve embarrassed Uncle Sam. Thats unforgivable.

They can re-engine the MAX to eliminate any possible aerodynamic instability. The airframe would remain usable, but without the higher efficiency engines the value proposition is damaged - meaning many orders would be canceled.
“No matter how many improvements / upgrades / design changes Boeing makes, this plane is doomed”
I agree.
Far worse things were said by DEC employees. They all seemed real as DEC slowly and horribly went out of business.
I wouldn’t know.
