Lara Logan on brutal attack that nearly killed her: 'I may have been a victim that night, but I am not a victim' (Egypt)

"I may have been a victim that night, but I am not a victim for the rest of my life," said veteran foreign correspondent Lara Logan describing the mindset she adopted in the aftermath of a brutal attack and rape by a mob in Cairo's Tahrir Square in 2011 -- the night that former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak was overthrown.

In an interview with Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo on her show "Mornings with Maria" on Thursday, Logan talked about how the experience impacted her.

"I think that one of the most significant things for me was that... I had a conventional idea about recovery," Logan said. "That I had to prove to everybody that I was the same person I was before."

The ultimate cause of this was the criminal negligence of sending a pretty blonde Western reporter into the middle of a third-world Islamic crowd, and all the ignorance-promotion that put her off her guard.

Your Pastor has wisdom gained from experience and walking with the Lord. Most people get bitter when bad things happen to them - people who walk with God get armed to the teeth from their experiences!

I knew that she had been raped, but not torn apart.

Somebody knew the risks and sent her there.

These people are lower then animals!

You are correct and yet our Federal Government spends trillions nation building in a country full of 7th century savages.

This mindset has to stop.

I remember at the time I thought she was raped, but she or her bosses were denying it. What do they expect from a culture that enslaves women. The pope wants to claim that Christianity and Islam worship the same god. They do not worship my God.

Maybe after seeing all the rapes in Sweden and other places where they take over, she now realizes her gang rape was not an aberration, but the norm in their culture.

Hopefully, she will be more forthcoming about her brutal multiple rapes and wake up the snowflakes.

She and her employer bought the fairy tale that izzlam is the "religion" of peace. Too bad.

Don’t forget Germany. In particular the Cologne New Years attacks of 2015/16.

Cologne attacks: What happened after 1,000 women were sexually assaulted?

The ongoing naïveté is breathtaking.

IIRC she was a bit of a lefty before this happened. But reality smacked her in the face (literally and figuratively) and now she sees the light. Fortunately she wasn't as badly hurt as some women are at the hands of moslem savages.

I live in a very affluent area of one of the country's filthiest states (The Gay State). On my way to the subway station I often use there are several houses that have signs in their front yards saying something like "you're welcome here regardless of where you're from". The sign is in several languages, the most prominent of which is Arabic.

And BTW...the area I'm talking about is predominantly Jewish.

Stupid women. She is not a role model for women.

She is a stupid woman who would hide the brutality of Islam from young girls. She is a deceiver.

That’s precisely it, and until and unless she points the finger at those people for lulling her into reckless complacency, she’s not made any real sense of the situation.

Any of us - ANY of us, had we been there, would have had the good sense not to put her out there.

She didn’t have that sense. Nor did her employer.

It is a struggle to be fully, socially, and consistently operational in this world after the real and personal level of your vulnerability and mortality has been shown to you.

Consciously you can overcome it, but for many this seems impossible.

Subconsciously you will NEVER be the same.

I applaud her for her strength and persistence. I didn’t buy it when she says she is the same person, but then I read where she says her conventional concept of recovery was that you can be the same person again.

One quote that struck me: “To me, they took so much from me that night...”
This is the part of the invulnerability that non-victims walk around with. The illusion that you possess anything. It’s an operative or modal construct. You get used to assuming the things around that that are constants will remain constant, and that your personal state will remain as it has been.
It’s such a cliche new-age sounding thing to say, but you can’t really live in and appreciate the moment until you are able to give up the illusion of control, protection, and ownership. You don’t really have any of them.

I knew she was attacked but I never knew she was brutally raped and sodomized multiple times.

The media is disgusting.

Why is she not out blowing the trumpet about these savages?
There is only one way to deal mudslimes, brute force into submission. It’s all they understand.

Welcome to the real world Laura, sorry it took this horrific event to teach you. I’m glad you didn’t die for your naivety and I hope you understand what a great blessing that the United States of America is to the world.

I assume she is a Trump supporter now?

I can’t believe how well this story has been “hidden”.

She's still fighting the good fight.

Logan said that traumatic experience has informed her work as a journalist covering the horrors of sexual violence and sex-trafficking, which is a focus of her new Fox Nation series, "Lara Logan Has No Agenda."

In a new episode of  "Lara Logan Has No Agenda," Logan traveled into central Mexico to investigate a small city, named Tenancingo, which lies at the dark heart of that country's sex trade.

It is a place that most journalists would not go, and Logan and her team were harassed, threatened by Mexican police and at one point nearly chased out of the city.

EXCLUSIVE: LOGAN CORNERED BY MEXICAN POLICE AND THREATENED

The town was built on the illicit profits of sex traffickers. According to the Department of Homeland Security, millions and millions of dollars flow through the United States to Tenancingo every year.

"The girls are trafficked to that town and used in Mexico in serialized rape -- we call it prostitution but really it is rape -- and many of them are trafficked right here into New York City. This is the number one destination for the Tenancingo trafficking."

Concerning Islamism, I think if she was a “tolerant liberal” before her attack, she wasn’t after.

She’s a big supporter of killing Soleimani, for example, and can quote his atrocities chapter and verse with passion.
