We’re in unknown territory. Some legal experts are saying that the 2/3 vote only applies when the senate officially receives the articles. Until that time they are free to change the rules with 51 votes.

I prefer Grahams plan to try the case without the articles by letting Trump’s lawyers rebut the house case. Then vote to acquit.

Yeah. You said the same thing I did in post 6.

Senate Rules can be (and are routinely) changed with just a minimum of 51 votes.

Senate requires 2/3 vote to convict. Anything less than that is an acquittal.

They only require 51 votes to change the rules.
