Before President Donald Trump even said "good morning" in a televised address responding to Iran's strikes on U.S. targets, he announced, "As long as I am president of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon."
It's an often-repeated line from him, but there was one change in U.S. policy Wednesday: Trump called for other world powers to abandon the nuclear accord, which is barely surviving after he withdrew the U.S. in 2018 and Iran has unraveled its cooperation since 2019.
Instead, Trump urged those countries that remain in the deal to pursue negotiations over a new Iran nuclear deal. But in doing so, he attacked the existing one with misinformation -- and analysts say any new negotiations are unlikely because of Trump's maximalist approach to Tehran.
Instead of laying out a road map for talks, Trump took the time on Wednesday to bash the previous deal, saying, "Iran's hostilities substantially increased after the foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013 and they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash."
Trump has made these claims before, but they're no less false. As part of the deal, which was signed in 2015, not 2013, Iran was not given $150 billion, but had billions of its assets unfrozen.
Trump also claimed the "very defective JCPOA expires shortly," but parts of the deal never expire, including the IAEA inspections, Iran's signature on the NPT and a commitment not to pursue a nuclear weapon.
While Trump expressed optimism for a new negotiation with Iran and a new deal, the chances of that are also low. Iran's Supreme Leader said he will not negotiate with Trump, telling Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in June, "I don't consider him worthy of even exchanging messages with."

What IAEA inspections? And where? The deal allowed the Iranian Military to dictate what the IAEA was allowed to inspect. AND I also thought, because of this, the IAEA quit conducting inspections. They were useless.
Israel produced unequivocal proof to the world through and intelligence coupe that Iran was blatantly violating the agreement with their ballistic missile and nuclear program.

I am so tired of the MSM referring to unknown analysts of unknown qualifications to judge anything. I just learned that the "Pentagon official" so often quoted by CNN and MSNBC as a "source inside the Pentagon" is actually a janitor who works there. Who knew?
These guys cannot help themselves. They simply cannot report the news. Like a crack addict they must infuse their stories with blatant editorial efforts to persuade for the liberal world view.

That is a direct statement of fact. There was no rational reason to unfreeze the Iranian assets knowing full well Iran, the leading State Sponsor of Terrorism, was going to use those fund attack on our personal and our allies. No international “court judgement” compels a nation to take interests contrary to its national security needs.
That the Obamabots are desperately trying to obfuscate facts with the utterly irreverent twaddle and made lies is the despicable.
This is the type of thing that puts the quotation marks around the phrase “fact-check.” I’ve read a bunch of them claiming Trump was all wrong or misrepresenting Obama’s Iran deal. Why, we didn’t give Iran $150 billion, we just unfroze $150 billion of their assets. And how was the result of that any different from giving them $150 billion? They now have $150 billion they didn’t have before we allowed them access to it.
Also, why, there’s no hard evidence that Iran spent the money we gave them on weapons and exporting terrorism. What the hell else do they spend money on, pedicures? If they didn’t spend those exact dollars on exporting terrorism, then they used them to free up $1.5 billion elsewhere to spend on exporting terrorism. This isn’t reporting or fact-checking, it’s just a pantsload of self-serving semantic nitpicking.

If they didn’t spend the money exporting terrorism, where is the "fact-checking" reporting showing all the Iranian infrastructure projects and health and welfare improvement projects for the people of Iran?
It should be easy to find dramatic and compelling video of the changes in Iran that have improved the living conditions of the ordinary citizens. You'd think they'd be eager to show the world how Obama's Iran deal made things better all over Iran.

These frauds and liars who parse words to justify calling the president a liar, are the same ones who tried to explain away Planned Parenthood’s selling of baby body parts as being based on a “highly edited video”. Similarly, they ran with Obama’s and Hillary’s lie that Benghazi was about some obscure video. They are the same ones who edited the 911 call without disclosing it to make in seem as if Zimmerman was fixated on Trayvon Martin being black (rather than merely answering a question the dispatcher asked regarding a description of the suspect). These are the same ones who changed the color of Zimmerman’s shirt to prison orange and published years-old photos of Martin to make him appear to be a small, defenseless child. These are the same ones who edited the images of Zimmerman’s bloodied and bruised head to make it seem as if he had not received life-threatening injuries. These are the same ilk of sleazy leftists who portrayed pro-life kids as harassing, threatening, and intimidating a Native American war hero, when the reverse of all of it was true... and this has now resulted in multi-million-dollar settlements because of these types of blatant and criminal lies.

There was no previous nuclear deal with Iran.
There was Obama giving Iran a wish list, some promises not to interfere with Russian inroads, and lots of money, and Iran promising nothing in return.
