A growing number of Democratic senators are saying it's time for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to submit the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate.
"We are reaching a point where the articles of impeachment should be sent," Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., told reporters Wednesday.
In an interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday, Sen. Angus King, a Maine independent who caucuses with the Democrats, said he believes "it is time for the speaker to send" the articles.
Meanwhile, Sen. Doug Jones, D-Ala., told CNN Tuesday in remarks confirmed by NBC News that he is "hoping" Pelosi will soon submit the articles, although he is still concerned about an agreement to hear from witnesses during the Senate trial.
Sens. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., and Joe Manchin, D-W.V., both told The Washington Post on Tuesday that they believe it's time to transmit the articles.
So far, Pelosi is standing firm, continuing to withhold the articles until the Senate process is explicitly laid out, though she suggested she could soon submit them.

Alright, Nancy. You’ve had your fun. Now it’s time to buckle down and move on to the next step in this procedure that you got started. No more horsin’ around modeling your new pantsuits, especially not this close to the Iowa Caucus.
So Nancy, so far, has only a sheaf of paper, with little meaning or validity.
Its value may increase only marginally even if she does complete the business of impeachment and submits the documentation to the Senate. Does she even have a manager for the presentation of the articles to the floor?

Excellent news for McConnell and Trump. There’s no real upside to continued delay for the Democrats.
They never had any real leverage except in their fevered minds. Live by impeachment, die by impeachment.
And its going to dawn on their moonbat base Trump will still be President in February! They need to put some ice on it.

If the Democrats actually had a case against Trump, McConnell would have had the impeachment articles minutes after the House vote.
My Democratic neighbors normally have CNN on awaiting the news of Trump’s removal from office.

Perhaps Nancy is holding on to the articles to make it easier for Joe Biden. Joe needs help - lots of help.
The democrats are ridiculous! They do not think people see through what they are doing. They think they are being shrewd. Holding the Articles of Impeachment from the Senate is simply because they know it will go nowhere. They are hoping that what they implied with their impeachment vote was that Trump did something wrong. They are only getting democrats who vote democrat because their parents did and everybody else in their neighborhood does also. They are not going to get the swing voters.
I think some of these Dems want a Senate trial so they can vote to acquit. Some of them are in pretty tough races.
