Australians are doing their best to save local animals from overwhelming brushfires by any means possible — including packing them into their cars.
A viral video documents two teen cousins’ efforts to save area wildlife by packing six koalas into their vehicle. “Rescuing Koalas affected by fires on Kangaroo Island with my cousin,” reads the video’s caption. “Little fellas looking a little exhausted.”
The clip pans to the back of the car, where a mom and her child are cuddling. “She’s a mother with a baby,” says one of the two young heroes, who are identified by LADbible as Micah, 19, and Caleb, 18.
“Shoved the mother in the boot because she was a bit aggressive,” he adds.

I bet no one’s rescuing dingoes or emus!
Saving them from brush fires? Or from Muslim pyro-manic vandals?
I read here they plan on killing 10000 camels too for being destructive seeking water.
Emus maybe, but not dingoes!.....................
People who intentionally set fires and kill people and animals should be set on fire................
I think the motive to kill off the camels and water usage is just the subversives retarded excuse to kill them off.
There are touching photos of koalas begging water from cyclists, climbing up on the frame and drinking from water bottles. Thirst makes them lose their fear of humans.
One koala tried to steal an empty water bottle, apparently believing it an endless supply.
Meanwhile, the bushfires are proving to be the result of the biggest mass arson in Australian history. Hundreds of arrests with no names given, if you get my drift.
Climate change, my foot!

So let me understand this. koala’s are so thirsty they are begging water from cyclists.
Cyclists are riding through fire area’s? Don’t think so.
I also have a hard time believing that a wild animal, like a koala knows what a water bottle is.
I’m more inclined to believe the video was shot in an animal sanctuary where the animals are conditioned to humans and trained to go for the bottles.
More so, the smoke from a wildfire gets pretty think for many, many miles around the fire. Not too many cyclists will go for a pleasure ride in those conditions. They need to draw strong breaths.
But no poisonous snakes.
I grew up in an area with a large (relatively speaking) koala population and had several koala’s living on our property.
Wild koala’s approaching humans in times of distress was rare, but not unheard of, 30+ years ago. I witnessed one such koala approach my father and others who were clearing trails after a particularly bad bushfire.
Back then there wasn’t to proliferation of water bottles so one of the guys poured water into his hardhat and the koala drank from that.
A koala isn’t the brightest animal, but they are smarter than birds and birds figure out real quick what water bottles are.
As for the cyclists, no idea. But considering there are about 12 million hectares (approx. 46,000 square miles or the size of the state of Mississippi) that has already been burnt over the last couple of weeks, there would be plenty of places people could ride bikes to check out the devastation without running into the active fire front or heavy smoke.
Not saying the story is accurate, but it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.
It could be true, but I highly doubt any animal can recognize a water bottle and go ask for it without conditioning.
