Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) talks with CNN's Wolf Blitzer about President Donald Trump's decision to kill Iranian general Qasem Soleimani
Well, there is that...
The Kharg island oil terminal is and has always been very vulnerable. Destroy its facilities and Iran’s oil exports and revenues simply cease.
Just takes a Commander in Chief with the cojones. PDJT just demonstrated he has those in spades.
“What path is there to negotiation?”
When negotiating each party anticipates to get something out of it. But Iran is an aggressor, having waged war against the US since 1979. They should not receive anything. They must unconditionally surrender and we all know when that will happen..
The Mullahs in Tehran have have few actual allies, in its region or the world.
Both China and Russia are friends of convenience and are not going to back an Iranian WWIII Jihad against the U.S.
Iran will not initiate a conventional arms attack on U.S. military bases, knowing the “conventional” response from the U.S. will be massive.
Iran will use its internationalized proxy, its Quds Force, in one or more kinds of attacks its uncoventional Quds Force is used to. The U.S. will hit the sources and the planners of any such attacks.
It will be tit for tat for some period of time, not WWIII.
Which is part of the Trump Strategery: yell all you want but take any action and WHAM!
As someone pointed out — if Iran was going to do anything it would have already been done. Every day that passes between the incident and the “response” waters down that response. By now it is so watered down it is just vapor.
I saw something about Trump sending a letter to Iraq saying we will leave Iraq.
Iran is in a really vulnerable position right now, and will be for several weeks or months.
The President is not using the old rules, so Iranian deniability is now denied.
No one should be surprised by Rand Paul’s remarks they are consistent with what he believes whether you agree with them or not. I think the bigger point for President Trump is that Rand represents a voting block in the Republican party who are for the lack of a better word “doves”.
I would think that Trump has not committed himself without some kind of exit strategy to deescalate this situation. And is why I am expecting some form of withdrawal down the road similar to Syria. Where troops only remain to secure certain facilities and provide rapid response.
The Iraqi vote that said they wanted Americans out is being misrepresented by the MSM. It was a non binding vote by Iran's people in the Iraqi Parliament. The Sunni and Kurds MP were absent.
Rand Paul acts like Iran is a major power on par with what Germany and Japan were in 1941. Maybe he could buy a history book.
I firmly believe that Iran is just short of a students revolution that would overthrow the mullah’s.
All trump would have to do is hit the right leaders, and the right command and control and Iran goes back to the way it was before ayatollah assaHola took over.
“Iran has been waging asymmetrical war by proxy against the US for over 40 years.”
+1
Rand isn’t daft, he just doesn’t let facts get in the way of his reasoning.
While I agree with Rand Paul on many issues, he is clearly wrong on this issue. Ron and Rand Paul are positioning for a 2024 presidential run.
With a million-men Army, the students cant do anything. The only force that can bring down the Mullahs is the Army.
If anyone has experience with being brain-dead it’s the Pauls.
Rand just gave bad international optics to our enemies. He needs to support this President, not give ammo to the Democrats.
(Does that sound remarkably familiar to current events?).
For battle where a entire navy really was wrecked, there is the Battle of Bubiyan during the first Gulf War. Royal Navy Sea Lynxes firing Sea Skua missiles took out most of the Iraqi navy. In total 21 of 22 Iraqi warships present were destroyed.

Go back to having sex with Tucker Carlson Rand.
Both are bigger appeasers than Dems.
Diplomacy with who Rand? Murderous dictators? Peace in our time Neville Paul?
