Recently, an oft-cited Business Insider survey ranked the rudest cities in America. The top 10 are all bastions of misguided liberalism. They are sanctuaries to illegal aliens and often hostile towards law-abiding citizens by imposing oppressive taxes and silly regulations and by encouraging lawlessness by handcuffing law enforcement.
Intrigued, I compared the Business Insider list to a survey that ranks cities on a conservative-liberal spectrum, and to other surveys that rank by friendliness, safety, and crime. The results are insightful: independent surveys indicate that the rudest, most dangerous, and least friendly cites are overwhelmingly liberal and sanctuary cities. Moreover, some conservative cities that rank more favorably are larger than a few of the degenerate liberal cities.
Let's start by comparing a list of the most liberal cities, as compiled by The Economist and published by Forbes, to the Business Insider list of rudest cities. It's uncanny: two completely separate surveys are almost interchangeable. Indeed, seven cities are on both lists, while neither of the ignominious lists has a single conservative (mostly) city. Juxtaposed is Forbes's list of the most dangerous cities.

Honest, I NEVER believe the news shows that have people giving the middle finger or cursing in NYC aren’t edited.
I’ve NEVER ONCE had that experience.
People that keep walking even when you ask for directions? Yes. And that’s Rude.
Never Once, out of hundreds of times in my life did I get a nasty response.
It’s silly to think someone would curse at you or give you the finger for asking for help.
It’s also not true.
Even some homeless and rambling people have given me better directions than the sane folks :)
Here in California they get two awards not only the rudest but the stupidest, they age but never grow up.
The normal are far and few between the crazy.
I guess theres no coincidence these crime, liberal, and rude lists are also lists of NFL cities.
Don’t doubt your assessment of the niceness of NYC natives (a former one myself) but it took 20 people’s for you to find your way home?
Agreed. Spent a lot of time in NYC during my last job. People were always great. I think SF people are rude and LA people are fake (generally speaking). Never liked either place.
Stocton was the worst city I had to work in this year. Full of meth head zombies missing body parts. Crazy place.
On one of my mother’s recent trips to NYC, she and a friend got into a cab during a minor terror bombing and, with the traffic badly tied up, asked for a fairly long ride to a train station so they could meet relatives upstate on schedule. Amazingly, the cab driver suggested a cheaper ride and better train station. My NYC cop friend swears that was no doubt only because the cab driver was an undercover operative from the cab licensing board.
Had the same experience at a Phillies game. The Phillies were getting beaten quite badly and the home fans were being vile to their own team. Quite an eye opener.
Of course, duh! When you are conditioned to expect everything from the government, there is no point to being nice to others... they are just competing for your teat.
