We are 13 months into this sponsor effort, and it’s still not settled. No only is my wife the spouse of an US Citizen, she is the biological mother of an US Citizen.

I was married in 2005 and it took nearly two years before my wife had a visa to come over here. And I was then, and now, active duty military.

That’s horrible. Sorry for the difficulties you are going through.

It took 18 months for the US Embassy in Japan to issue a green card to Mrs. VanShuyten. That’s after all the paperwork, fees and interviews.

Be patient.

Which makes it even more annoying when someone breaks the law and thinks they are entitled, because each illegal brings more pressure on the system, making legal cases take longer.

That is a long time. Anything special about her case? Was she ever out of status (shouldn’t matter unless she entered uninspected). It seems like it should be a straightforward I-130/I-485 combo application. Should have been done in 7-10 months.
