NOT ALWAYS mind you, but often only a handful would be chanting their idiocy about the various trends of the time, and the even back then leftist media would take close up photos making it seem there were hundreds of protestors, when there were only a few. Saw that many times. First hand experience.

Was this even an anti-war protest? What does honking a horn signify? Could mean either approval or disapproval of the message, or “get out of the road, you stupid hippy, I’m trying to get home.”
Note that there never was from the Santa Cruz folks any protest that Iranian General Soleimani keep his war making hands off of Lebanon, Gaza, Syria or Iraq??? To do that would require (a) intelligence and (b) actual knowledge of the international terrorism of Iran’s Quds Force led by General Soleimani. That’s something that cannot be expected of the sheeple led by the Marxists to “protest” when assigned to it.
