You are trusting Rouhani over Abe, because of a headline not supported by the content of the article?
What is this alleged mechanism to get around U.S. sanctions?
Seriously?

Iran is vowing "crushing revenge" against the U.S. after an airstrike killed its top military commander, General Qassem Soleimani. U.S. officials had been hinting at a move for some time. CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports on the latest, and Michael Morell, CBS News' senior national security contributor and a former acting and deputy CIA director, joined "CBSN AM" to discuss.
Morell: Iran's Qassem Soleimani was an "evil genius" who "had a lot of American blood on his hands" | CBS News | Published on January 3, 2020

I hope Japan sends warships to protect their tankers as well. That would be nice...

This is a bit cartoonish (who wants to take a patriotic Russian communist sock puppet frog seriously?) but it does explain why Argentina can not take the Flaklands for at a decade,
Argentina vs United Kingdom: Falklands War 2017. Additionally, while the RN has grown smaller, all the existing RN ships are modern and has lessons learned from the Falklands. During the Falklands most of the RN was flat out obsolete and the new ships suffered from cost cutting. The current Type 23s and 45s are good ships.

Count me as someone who is not all that fond of the Brits. I find them to largely resentful and condescending to us.

Yeah. And maybe they can wake up the big lizard in Tokyo Bay, you know Ol’ Godzilla and ask him if he’d be so nice not to flatten Tokyo and instead go flatten Tehran.

Exactly. But God Almighty do they come banging on our door when they need us. Two generations of my family damn near lost their lives, in 1918 and 1945 fighting to bail them out.

Very pretty, but where do the fix-wing aircraft land? Or does it only use helos and vtols like F-35? Maybe with 2 launch runways, they alternate between launch and landing? And why do they have 4 old time 10"? guns on the front? Where's their defense systems, like a Phalanx or the Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM)? On the stern?
Also, how does the bridge see anything that low? Where is the flight control bridge? That little slot on the side that has such a limited view? Yeah, I get techno advances, but being an ex-Airdale on the flight deck, I know why the Air Boss has to have unobstructed views of all air operations. This is probably some graphic designers wet dream for a mock-up to put in his office.

I looked them up and it does appear that Italy has a more formidable navy if you discount the nuclear submarines. Certainly they are more powerful conventionally.
