Back in the 80’s, before counterfire radar really got big, we had counterfire specialists - either through forward observers or through microfones we were able to pinpoint enemy fire through triangulation. Radar made us obsolete, but if needed, call me!
Thanks to everyone for the education.
I should have known they hit and run.
BREAKING: It is totally expected that #Israel Air Force carries-out airstrike at Imam Ali base of #IRGC-Quds Force & its #PMU militias in #Abukamal near #Iraq-#Syria border tonight or perhaps within next 72hrs. Because ballistic & cruise missiles are on the way of this base now.
Expect clashes in the next 48-72 hours. Several high ranking political and religious figures (the type to get notified first) have travelled to remote areas with their families.
Israel isnt tolerating anything, it has eyes on Syria and Iran like no tomorrow.

I havent been here in a while. When did Twitter become a legitimate news source? The only thing I believe on Twitter is what President Trump says.
I have monitored this person’s Twitter account for a while and can vouch for the accuracy of his posts. Everything corresponds to what he has been stating.
Thank you.
We are very good at finding the point of origin of both rockets and mortars. However, since about 2005 or so the vast majority of these rockets are fired by remote control (wire or cell phone command).
Shooting back at the origin point usually just churns dirt and destroys evidence indicating which group fired the rockets.
Question for any knowledgeable FReeper: Does a pickup truck rocket launcher have a unique sort of thermal signature after launch (parts heated by the launch) that could be quickly spotted, tracked for up to a few moments, and precision targeted?
I suppose one could launch and then toss the launcher in the ditch / on the sidewalk, but even that might take a few moments?
So, the launchers are basically considered expendable anyway, and the people launching don’t really care if they are identified...
Time to go to the source.
Ask not for Qom the well tolls
It tolls for thee

“When did Twitter become a legitimate news source?”
Twitter is just the medium. That’s like saying when has radio or television become a legitimate news source? The accuracy varies depending on the source not the communications medium.
We probably have satellite coverage...
