Tuco: ...don’t talk - shoot!
I shudda read ahead!
So the US should double down on the stupid moves that got us into this no-win war in the first place? Bush removed the anti-Iranian tyrant and replaced him with a pro-Iranian tyrant. The two sects are never going to be at peace, and no matter what, the US has no interests there. Get all Americans out of Iraq. It is a quagmire with no good ending.
The point is that Iraqi citizens who are of the opposing sect to the one in power want us out and they want their government out. This is a no-win situation, and other than having to admit the shame that this was a horrible mistake in the first place, there is no reason for any Americans to be there.
Sending more troops and firing up the conflict do nothing but increase the number of Americans who are going to die, and to waste even more money. Bring the troops home and put them on our border. The other thing that will happen is that more Muslim “refugees” will come flooding into our country. It’s insane.
I used to be in favor of hiring local talent. Then I realized that local talent would turn on you as soon as someone else came along and give them funding.
Training, arming, funding them... probably not a good idea.
Look, I understand what you’re saying. Can’t say I’m 100% right here.
You being scared does not constitute a reason to not protect our embassies and the people in them.
>Get all Americans out of Iraq
Cool. But they are there right now, and until they are not, they are not going to be left to attack like the ones in Libya.
Everything the US does in the Middle East is creating more risk for Americans, not less. Now we see the Iraqi parliament wants US troops out. Who couldn’t see that coming? So, does the US force the issue and stay, pretending that they really want us, or do we go? The law of unintended consequences is in full display.
We dont need to stay. No net negative for us. Let the Iraqis turn the place into an outlet mall.
Our hit on that guy was because of his past attacks on our people, not for the glory of Iraq.
