That is the part I disagree with. The author states that as a fact, when it's merely his opinion.
It's the "we" in his statement that creates a sweeping generality that just is not true.

My late husband enlisted when he got his draft notice as no one was hiring his age group. Went USAF and he was the only 1 in his unit with gun knowledge. Made Marksman award all 4 yrs.
