Unconfirmed: Among the dead is the son in law of Sulaimani and he was also the son in law of Imad Mughniyeh.
..............
Mughniyeh was the founder of Lebanon’s Islamic Jihad and number two in Hezbollah’s leadership before we killed him in 2008.
...........
This strike may prove to be the highest value targe we’ve ever hit, next to bin Laden.

Qassim Soleimani's death is a grievous blow to Iran

Good - if he's valuable to the madmen who run Iran, that must mean he's killed thousands. Good riddance, and kudos to Trump and the US military for getting rid of him.

There is a back story to this raid.
............
The Iranians, Lebanese Hezbollah leaders and the local militias were likely organizing a coup to take over Iraq.
..........
That would explain an airstike at the airport that we use extensively.

Great news. As a side note, the Huffington Post usually allows comments on articles but not on this one. I guess they are in mourning and did not want American patriots celebrating on their website.

But, really, how hard will it be in Iran to find another ruthless, murderous, anti-American Shia bombmaker to take his place? They seem to have a nearly limitless supply.

Don’t let your generals run around with embassy-attacking terrorists outside your own country. Duh!

An honest mistake. We were going after that other powerful Iranian, John French Kerry (who served in Vietnam, if you haven’t heard)

Now you know why the 82nd was deployed. There’s gonna be some action and the military wants force protection.

Couple cheerful quotes to begin the New Year:

Dubowitz: "They thought he was a Twitter tiger; he’s proven otherwise."

Milley: Milley warned any future embassy attackers would "run into a buzz saw."

That is like posting ‘Yamamoto’s death a grievous blow to Japan. (With apologies to the admiral's shade.) But donkey congressrats are making much howl over this
grave escalation’.
