Pope Francis apologized Wednesday after a now-viral video showed him slapping the hand of a woman who grabbed him in St. Peter’s Square on New Year’s Eve.
A video that spread across social media on Tuesday showed Pope Francis greeting worshippers as he made his way to the nativity scene in Vatican City. At one point in the video, a woman grabbed the pope’s hand and yanked him over to her. Visibly irate, the pope slapped the woman’s hand to loosen her grip.

I saw a video of that. He slapped her hand and turned toward the camera with a nasty scowl on his face. He’s not a good man.
All she wanted to do was hold his hand for a second.
Yeah she grabbed it but because she was so thrilled to see him!

Bull. His security was shockingly incompetent and should have, as a minimum, immediately taken her down. I am no fan of this Pope, but she was an immediate threat and could have been planning much worse for him.

I’m a little torn. It was rude of her to grab and pull at him, but he could have handled it better.
Secondly - Where was his security detail?
The pope spends a lot of time with his Muslim buddies. Muslims like to hit women. Maybe some of that has rubbed off on Francis.

I’m not going to blame him for that after what happened to John Paul 2(he’s an old man and was probably scared)but he’s still a bad pope
