Pope Francis apologizes for losing his patience after slapping woman’s hand

Pope Francis has apologized after he appeared to lose his cool when a woman violently grabbed his hand while he greeted pilgrims at the Vatican on New Year’s Eve.

A video that went viral on Twitter showed an unidentified woman abruptly grabbing Francis’ hand from behind a barrier and yanking him towards her just after he reached out to greet a child during a visit to the Vatican’s nativity scene on Tuesday night.

It seemed like the woman would not release Francis’ hand, so the pontiff slapped her hand before pulling his free. Frowning in anger, he turned and strode away.

I fail to see how your question is relevant to my comments. I know my Catholic faith and scripture well enough to be skeptical of this pope. He is a hypocrite. He is not familiar with the Catechism. He is what I would consider the anti-Christ and false prophet. And he is not even close to being in the same category as St. John Paul II and Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

How well do you know how this pope has thrown the Catholics in China under the bus?

I realize that you all reject the Bible over tradition and councils . . . yet . . .

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:11-13).

I watched that stupid crap on Netflix about the two popes. What a piece of leftist propaganda. There is a reason why there has never been a Jesuit pope or one named Francis in 2,000 years. God willing, there will never be a Francis II. He sold his own priests out to the marxist guerrillas in Argentina. He does not speak English, which is astounding considering that the last two popes spoke a minimum of five languages. And I cannot respect a pope who condemns capitalism when the US provides boat loads of money to the American Catholic Church as well as the Holy See. I would just appreciate a simple ‘thank you’.

Irish Catholics are the worst. They live with their heads up their ass. They still think Clinton was a great president. Along with JFK.

In History there was a time when there were three popes at the same time . . . and they kept kicking each other out of the church.

There was even a woman pope . . . she dressed like a man, but she died during a parade as she was giving birth. They even built a statue on the spot until they eventually tore it down.

Pope Frankie was a tenderweight compared to some of the adulterers, pedophiles, and murderers that held the holy see in history.

Every idle word ...
even the Apostle Paul apologized ...

  • But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

    ...

  • And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.
  • And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.
  • Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law?
  • And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?
  • Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

Acts, Catholic chapter twenty three, Protestant verses one to five,

Interesting. Where in that passage does Paul say, “I am sorry!”

I missed it. You call that an apology?

You are welcome to use my Bible in sincerity and truth, working out your salvation with fear and trembling, walking after the Spirit instead of after the flesh.

Notice from the Vatican Office of Translation

THE NEW YEAR SLAPPING INCIDENT

Many around the world have expressed concern about the recent video of the Holy Father slapping an Asian woman in Saint Peter's Square.

The Holy Father enjoyed a fine bottle of Argentinian wine, and then decided to walk through the crowds in Saint Peter's Square, to grin at the faithful pilgrims.

The Pope is well aware that revelers pilgrims like to see him, get selfies, and at times touch the hem of his garment.

It is well known that after the Pope placed the Catholic Churches of China under control of the Communist Party, the government also requested that the Vatican be moved to Shanghai. He refused.

It is well known that Italy and not China, has the world's best food.

After all, China has already reconstructed replicas of many of the world's best buildings and the Vatican has been located in Italy from the beginning.

In response to this, China sent an abduction team to the Vatican.

The Asian woman, disguised as a pilgrim, was in the process of abducting the Pope, when he realized what was happening.

The Father simply exercised his right to self-defense.

The Swiss Guards were off for Christmas Break and unable to help.

Before "poor communication" is made the scapegoat of this latest slapping action by our Holy Pope , we would like to post this important announcement to the faithful worldwide.

DO NOT BLAME US!!! We do not tell our Great Papa what to do - or say.

He does it or says it, and then we try to figure out what it means in Italian, let alone all the languages of the world! We are not charged with perfection in translation. In fact, none of us speak a second language at all!

This may surprise many readers of this notice, so I will describe our role here at Vatican Central... or VeeCee, as we call it.

First, just months ago, we were all homeless on the Streets of Rome. The translation office is a jobs program for homeless Italians. Through the kindness of the Great leaders at VeeCee, 8 of us were recruited to a very fulfilling job with benefits. Many of us previously used Google Translate, so we had every qualification needed. Please note, our instructions are to get the message out fast. You may have noticed our Great Pope speaks "off the cuff" quite frequently, or as we say here in VeeCee, "between bites of pasta."

For this reason, we are not charged with accuracy, but with speed. Blinding speed. And between you and me, we are fast. We don't like to miss meals. Done is done. Good enough, is good enough.

With this in mind, please try to speak kindly of us so that we can continue in this important role.

Sincerely,
Luigi, Antonio, Giuseppe, Michael, Maria, Giovanna, Francesco, & Concetta

That GIF is a false meme because it does not show the trigger, the woman yanking Pope Francis backward 180 degrees by surpise and against his will and motion. The truthful meme is even being shown on the fake media, which emphasizes what a false meme that GIF was.

If I say, "I didn't realize that that guy was the mayor," am I apologizing or simply stating a fact?

"But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God" (2 Corinthians 4:2).

Anybody around here who hangs out at the Religion Forum knows I am majorly dismayed at Pope Francis about 80% of the time, with gusts of up to 100.

However this time I gotta disagree with his critics. His face may have looked *evil" but that little woman about jerked his off his feet. Look, he's 83. I think his initial look was pain (probably an arthritic pain in his hand or wrist I'm thinking) followed by anger and some impulsive verbal production like, "Ow, let me go, dammit."

Not sweet and full-of-grace, but any of us could have done the same, especially if she twisted a painful joint.

I wish he could get his Security people to find her and invite her to come back to Domus Sanctae Martae, where he lives, and get a chance to tell him what she needed to tell him. I have a hunch it might have been very important--- maybe what's going on with Catholics in China, which is a real horrorstory which he NEEDS to hear about first hand.

You don't seem to know what"vicar" means.

It's approximately "agent" or, more Biblically, "steward." I means a person authorized to carry out the Boss' orders and care for His household--- no more and no less.

It doesn't mean successor or substitute or anything that implies equivalent.

In the OT, the guy in Isaiah 22:22 who received "the power of the keys" (a foreshadowing of Peter) apparently eventually lost his job because he didn't do quite what the King wanted.

Priest who offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass are said to be acting “in persona Christi”, “in Christ’s person.” But even that doesn’t make them equals of Christ: his servants, rather -—like the Pope, who is called “servum servorum Christi”: servant of the servants of God.
