Hey there, Kathy.

No rain today but it’s coming back in force Thurs. through Sat. It was mostly sunny and a bit cool but not too bad. Still ok enough to step outside for a few minutes to watch fireworks in the area. They’re sporadic now but should be cranked up at midnight.

Man, talk about luck hitting all the lights green! That’s a rarity, isn’t it? LOL Nice to have something go right today.

I’ve never made ALL the lights, but tonight I did. And with so much rain, slick and icy was in very few places.

And, on the way out, the boss said she would try to get us off at noon on Friday as the rest of the my company (we have the whole 4th floor) got off at noon today. That would be nice.

I knew today would be interesting. My radio station was off the air when I got up...it is on the 3rd floor of the Dimond Center and we are on the 4th floor. Everybody was coming in early in hopes of getting out with everyone else.

BUT...Ruthe texted from the parking lot...power outage somewhere in the area. When I was half way there all the street lights, and every other light was out. Putu, our new guy who is doing GREAT, texted that he, too, was in the lightless parking lot. I still had 3 signal-less intersections to go through before the main one at work. All three were easy, only a couple cars that all behaved and knew that a signal-less intersection means a 4 way stop. As I approached the last intersection, the street lights came on behind me. Taking my turn through the pitch black intersection was interesting, but most knew to do the 4 way stop bit. The minute I got through, the mall lights all came on, with other businesses and street lights coming on as well. Ruthe and I met up and decided to go inside.

Security was there at the elevator and said the guy “was on his way up to reset them” and it should take about 10 minutes. 15 minutes later, one of the elevators was functioning so up we went. Then to be met with no internet. Mine and Putu’s came back fairly quickly, but Ruthe and Kathryn’s did not...and not an IT guy to be found. A couple hours of off and on before everyone was back up...things did not go smoothly, but we finally finished at 4:30p and the rush home. Because we were getting out early, I didn’t take my laptop so I could post from work like I do every day. My work has blocked all my graphic sites so I cannot see if what I am posting is really there. I use the building wi-fi with my laptop to get around that.
