CLIFF EDWARDS: ”I’M GOING TO GIVE IT TO MARY WITH LOVE“
He was known as “Ukelele Ike” and is best remembered for singing “When You Wish Upon a Star,” which won an Oscar for Best Song in 1940. In 1936 he cut six sides for Hollywood Hot-Shots, a label for “party” records that were played at gatherings attended by girls who were known to “go the limit.” (I didn’t even know there was a limit.)
