He actually does have a small chance to get re-elected, because there could be another Roy Moore type situation. For example, if he runs against Sessions, it should be a slam dunk for Sessions. But Sessions could be taken down in a scandal at just the wrong moment, bringing him neck-and-neck with Doug Jones in the race. Under that type of scenario, Doug Jones would have a better chance for re-election if he sided with Trump on the impeachment issue.
Hopefully people will not fall for a fake scandal again. Surprise, surprise...all of Moore's accusers faded into the woodwork after the election. Then we had the Kavanaugh circus. It's the only playbook the Dems have, and with Kavanaugh, the firm pushback by Trump really gutted them. If Kavanaugh had been a Bush nominee, his nomination would have been withdrawn. I fully expect the Dems to have some kind scandal ready no matter who the Republican nominee is, but hopefully the voters will see it for what it is next time.

There will always be a Roy Moore situation. Thats all the progressives have. The only question is, will the Republicans fall for it again or will they pull a Kavanaugh and fight back? The Republican establishment completely caved with Roy Moore. False accusations and fake impeachment are the new normal and its pathetic.
You could be right, however, with Trump running and having huge influence to help elect somebody else that could bring a bigger republican majority, then, Doug Jones’s chances are virtually none.
Sessions is a weasel, a coward, and a traitor. He is sure to win.
