Iraq invaded two major oil producers in the course of a decade. A stable Iraq able to repeat the preceding ventures is not in the American interest. The current situation, where there’s unrest verging on civil war, isn’t so bad. That will keep them too busy to either build nukes, as Saddam attempted at Osirak, or invade their neighbors. Given the trouble they gave us while we were fighting Saddam’s dead-enders, I’d celebrate a much higher Shiite body count. These ingrates have it coming.

Oh cut the Monday morning quarterbacking crap. They had WMD and were firing on our jets in no fly zones. We can review this 10 years past, but there is no way in hell that after 10 years with Saddam still in power with his psych sons, you would be saying today is a paradise.
