Easier said than done. Regime change should have been our policy since Khomeini took over in 1979. I was in Iran during the fall of the Shah and the overrunning of our Embassy the first time on February 14, 1979.
The U.S. tried regime change in Iran when the Mossadegh government was overthrown in the 1950s. That lasted for about 25 years before the Iranians toppled the Shah and threw his ass out.
