Expansionist, individualist, and exclusionary patterns of housing
If youve heard that Green New Deal supporters want to increase government control over all facets of life more than they want to protect the environment, well, heres more evidence of that.
An assistant professor of urban planning at UCLA argues in the far-left magazine The Nation that California is doomed as long as people keep owning homes.
If we want to keep cities safe in the face of climate change, we need to seriously question the ideal of private homeownership, says Kian Goh, who researches urban ecological design, spatial politics and social mobilization in the context of climate change and global urbanization.
Goh considers it news rather than fevered speculation that we may only have a dozen years to contain global warming, as shown by destructive California wildfires in recent months and precautionary power shutoffs by utility companies.

Typical loser syndrome.
“A licensed architect”; aha! She gets to design the new buidlings that replace the private homes, thereby earning both fame and fortune!
Even with a commie, it’s still follow the money, and the accolades. She gets the credit for saving the world.
Dollars to donuts she designs a mean LEEDS certified abode. Maybe not functional for a normal human but just dandy for a DOOMER!
“professor argues”
Financially indebted loon screams nonsense in front of financially indebted students.
The thing is that the Millennials are already eschewing home ownership for apartments, so why the rush to kick older people out of their homes?
“Bet the prof would just love those Stalin era housing monstrosity projects.”
You’re right, of course, he’s arguing for nothing other than Collectivization.
Good subject for a campaign ad shouting that the Democrats are either with this nonsense or afraid to fight it. Republicans need to run against the Democratic party.
Florida has 10 Regional Planning Councils that are the gate keepers for the individual county land use plans for Florida’s 67 counties. While serving as chairperson for our county’s first comprehensive land use plan I had a brutal awakening to the mind/attitude of a modern day land “planner”. These are some scary people. They absolutely despise the concept of private property rights. In Florida they already have waaaayyy too much power.
As long as a county is governed by a conservative majority there is some braking ability to the planning council’s “natural” tendency to steam roll over the private property rights of the citizens of that county. But, for liberal governed counties, God help them.
The sad thing is that the local media either cares nothing about the erosion of private property rights, or they are in on it, because you will never read or see anything about it in the media.
There are people living on rural lands in Florida today that do not realize their sad situation, due to their media not informing them. But, one day they will be shocked to learn that due to their home’s “grandfather” status from being sited on “non conforming” use lands (nothing wrong with the land, but the planners want to eliminate homes within “deemed” agricultural areas and force people into “clusters”) they will be denied any future remodeling or reconstruction permits. Then, since the homes can not be kept up the homes ultimately will be condemned and destroyed. Nice. This is already happening, but again the media do not report it so the people have no idea. Frog...pan...hot water.
This is why some college “professors” need to be beaten with clubs until they scream.
Yup. Human free zones/eco islands. WWF/agenda 21.
At the end of each day, he retreats to his 17th floor walkup, no elevators, in the high rise communal living monolith situated near a public transportation hub. Sure.
“Environment is more important than human beings.”
In the end, most if not all of the environmental activist mobs are essentially anti-human; but only for other people, that is.
Here it is! This illustrates that the left’s end goal is the elimination of private property - seizing anything you own. That is the first plank of communism.
:)
My reply to them: “Hey assclown! Seize this!”
As a heritage American I laugh when someone with the name Kian Goh attempts to tell me how to live in my country. F off, dipsh*t.
