Some of the comments are spot on - one says he was cleared by a Military Court-Martial of all but a minor crime - so how could that be with all these snowflakes “weighing” in....

It isn’t popular to say it, but the ongoing wars and this pop culture have attracted more than a few modern snowflake new SEALS that are fantastic athletes, but otherwise not really the same caliber of fighting man of the recent past.

So I’m sure they can find a mangina or two to say things like this.

A couple murdered a Special Forces soldier in Africa because he was exposing their dope ring. One came out as a tranny. The fact that someone is a seal doesn’t mean their opinion is automatically worthwhile these days.

Yeah. I don’t take religious, moral, or military advice from the NYT.

Interesting if true. Did these stories come out as testimony during the court martial? If not why not? And If I recall correctly, why did the prosecution feel it had to spy on the defense attorneys? Perhaps a Freeper who is in-the-know can tell us. I would prefer someone who has direct knowledge to speak up, rather than rely on google.

These are just quotes taken out of context to twist the words and make for a hit piece on Trump and everything he stands for.

I’d be very curious to see an actual confirmation or rebuttal by Corey - but I’m sure they asked and he refused to talk to them.

You never heard of this thing before. The teams, purpose and how they are used all needs to be reassessed. I heard a podcast just last week from a former SEAL who said he rarely dived, and most of the guys he knew lost that skillset.

I believe a few years after 911, I recall there was a shortage, then some changes in the training and how the SEAL teams would be utilized. They have been pulled out of their historical purpose to supplement new requirements (per strategies) that the regular combat unit couldn’t entirely fulfill.

Because of that, you’re seeing way more problems than before. And I believe much of this is indeed new. And if the regular SEAL teams weren’t good enough, we had to have SEAL Team 6 and what not.

“Special Operator 1st Class Corey Scott, a medic in the platoon, told the investigators: “You could tell he was perfectly OK with killing anybody that was moving.”

Perfect! That’s their job, kill people and break things!

Toss in the fact that Gallagher was on his EIGHTH TOUR to Iraq/ Afghan

Think he might have seen the enemy at their worst and been a little “ distrustful” of them? Even those hijabi clad women collecting intelligence on, delivering explosives and helping kill Americans for allah

Seals were trembling and crying over dead terrorists.

Sure they were.

Democrats just recycle the same crap over the decades. Now, it’s Vietnam all over again.

“You could tell he was perfectly OK with killing anybody that was moving.”

Did he ever watch someone die and then laugh and gloat and say "we came, we saw, he died!" in a mocking tone of voice?

I’ve seen plenty of combat footage from WWII in urban zones. You didn’t just saunter into the street in Stalingrad during the Siege.

i.e. to a hammer, everything is a nail, as it should be. But don’t toss a hammer into an environment rich in eggs. And don’t blame the hammer when you suddenly have the makings for a lot of omelettes.

Isn’t a SEAL medic not really a SEAL? Like a Corpsman?

Medic and SEAL?....I would think the worldviews of those attracted to those two occupations would be completely different.

I wonder what SEALs think of medics. That would be interesting.

I knew a member of Patton’s 3rd Army. Even at 90+ nobody would dare to disparage Patton in front of him. This man was in my church in Benson, AZ along with a former member of the Wermacht who had spent a year in a Soviet POW camp.

We had some very interesting conversations during church socials.

I learned something today. Used to, most SEALs refer to their medical man as a “Corpsman”, which is the Naval billet, and Medic was a US Army billet say for Special Forces. In the past, many a SEAL take umbrage at any reference as a Medic, however that changed in 2006, when Navy Corpsman now fills the billet of “SEAL Medic” and they attend the Fort Bragg Course as part of their initial SEAL Medic training.

Now they are more of the Special Operation Forces rank structure.

Anybody know if the SEAL Medics prefer to be known as Corpsmen or as Medic?
