When my pager goes off at University Hospital in Newark, and I see a line that reads “Pediatric gunshot wound, 20 minutes out,” I immediately run down to the ER whether I’m on call or not, because I can’t help but wonder if it’s my kid. That’s the added twist of being a mother of three and a trauma surgeon in America. I worry, like other mothers, about my childrens’ safety, and it’s my job to expect patients rushed to our ER who may have minutes left to live.

Genes? Maybe. But, I think it’s also that as they climb their professional ladders, they are more and more insulated from the consequences of what they support. And then they realize that in order to climb even more or gain more clout, they have to really start diving in, because that’s what the puppet masters want. Obedience.
Typical liberals, all kind, caring and compassionate, yet they don’t want any of the people they support near them.
Go anywhere in the country, pretty much, your police chiefs are, for the most part, Liberal political hacks. Get out away from the cities and your Sheriffs and Chiefs tend to be Conservative and Constitutionalist’s.
No different than the politicians and the leeches in DC. They love supporting their liberal causes from their ALL-WHITE neighborhoods in and around DC. Let a black guy walk down the street, minding his own business and see how fast a cop shows up.

I’ve long ago given up on ever trying to reason with or debate with liberals. They have been immunized against exposure to facts, logic and the lessons of history by a corrupt education system. They do not think; they only emote and can rationalize anything away.
The non-academic coalition of private bipartisan participants that you suggest sounds good in theory but for the reasons stated above I doubt that it could ever produce any constructive or useful policies or results.

So, how many “near Jersey City” died, this week, from medical misadventure? I’ll bet it was a lot more than six.
It doesn't help that the path to success in medicine doesn't reward anyone for original thought, and that coupled with the fact that the body of knowledge that must be assimilated limits the time one has for in-depth examination of any other subject ... one ends up accepting the conventional view of all things.

During the same time, we have cut the violent crime rate in half. Not with stricter gun laws but with allowing citizens to defend themselves - via more gun ownership and the ability to carry.

When The Truth is sourced OUTSIDE yourself you have only to accept where it leads you. This is why there is peace in acceoting God. Those who displace God’s authority with THEIR OWN live in angry denial. Any logic that points them to that which is unacceptable is denied.

I went to your university page to find a picture of you. In case you hadn't noticed you are Caucasian (noun: a white person; a person of European origin.). Let's face it, such people by and large don't shoot each other so statistically you have very little to worry about.
