The language would have required the White House to release Ukraine defense aid quickly.
Senior Trump administration officials in recent days threatened a presidential veto that could have led to a government shutdown if House Democrats refused to drop language requiring prompt release of future military aid for Ukraine, according to five administration and congressional officials.
The language was ultimately left out of mammoth year-end spending legislation that passed the House and Senate this week ahead of a Saturday shutdown deadline. The White House said President Trump signed the $1.4 trillion package Friday night.
The Ukraine provision was one of several items the White House drew a hard line on during negotiations to finalize the spending legislation, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the developments. It would have required the White House to swiftly release $250 million in defense money for Ukraine that was part of the spending package.
The White House this year refused to release congressionally appropriated defense aid to Kyiv during a period when President Trump had asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former vice president and 2020 candidate Joe Biden and his son Hunter, who had served on the board of a Ukrainian gas company. Trump’s request of Zelensky as the White House delayed the aid was at the heart of House Democrats’ decision to impeach Trump this week on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Imagine that. Democrats insist that tax-payer money be immediately doled out to Ukraine. AFTER their con is busted that sent my tax money to George Soros' Ukraine and was circulated back to dem politicians (via Hunter Biden and others).
The American President has the nerve to disrupt their con and mess with they money.
How dare he?
Not when Soros ran the US Government through Obama. The Ukraine circular con was set up and unmolested during that time. This is how all or most 'foreign aid' has worked for some time now. It's Congress voting itself our money.
Then came Trump and this recent hulabaloo. This is what 'draining the swamp' looks like. The sludge objects most strenuously.
I generally believe they hate Trump because he is not one of them and not a part of these corrupt schemes.

The timing means they plan to pound this ALL weekend.
Some day, I hope Trump and the GOP leadership explain that three other countries had their military aid held up for corruption issues at exactly the same time Ukraine did.

I predict that Gazprom will buy the Swiss pipelayer within the next week and compensate shareholders, directors and employees any damage caused by the Congress bill within the next week.
The failed attempt to add this language to the bill is proof of Trump’s innocence.
If there were any actual and vital “national security” concerns related to the delayed prior release of Ukraine foreign aid, then why would Democrats cave on this issue as it relates to future aid?
I have no idea what ‘national security’ at all involved with giving that Kiev crooks millions of American money to steal.
US Aid often has conditions to be met.
We don’t want our money LAUNDERED through a corrupt government. If there we American players in that corrupt government...we’d kinda like to know who they are...no?
Let’s all remember that Obama failed to act at the Russian incursions. Why?
You don’t want your money laundered but the guys mulling this aid and voting for it sure want it laundered back to them.

Watch. The Democrats will try and spin this as Trump continuing attempts to get Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 elections.
It seems very unlikely for the impeachment to work out. And after it falls apart the Democrat party is toast. I have seen Fox interviews of folks in the streets in NYC about it. Even the liberals realize the insanity of all of this.
They are being politically blackmailed by corrupt Ukraine officials and oligarchs to support the country. /sarc
