Facebook and Twitter on Friday removed a network of fake accounts linked to the pro-Trump conspiracy website The Epoch Times.
Facebook in a blog post said it had connected the accounts to U.S.-based media company The BL, which in turn has ties to The Epoch Times.
That group, with ties to the Chinese spiritual group Falun Gong, has used social media to push for President Trump's reelection, NBC News first reported in August.
The hundreds of accounts were operated by individuals in Vietnam and the U.S., many of whom used artificial intelligence to generate profiles to infiltrate groups and dodge Facebook enforcement.
The individuals then pretended to be Americans and posted anti-impeachment and pro-Trump messages, often linking back to The BL's website.
The accounts were removed because of the way they operated — coordinated inauthentic behavior, misrepresentation and violating spam rules — rather than the content they posted.

Of course the tech giants want the Epoch Times destroyed - they are actual journalists that take on the ChiComs and the left with facts.
And yes, I proudly subscribe to their newspaper.

How did FxxxBook determine Artificial Intelligence was setting up accounts? I could see “scripting,” possibly, but “AI?” Really?
This is all bogus.
Always suspected Epoch Times was foreign owned and generated fake news articles.....
It’s called casting aspersions.
It’s just another jab at Trump and his supporters.
Considering that virtually every media outlet used their social media accounts as well as their newspapers to push for Trump's defeat, this is laughably biased. The Epoch Times is a legit newspaper, and has done some pretty good reporting, both on politics and Hong Kong. The print version is actually available at many of the local news stands and supermarkets here in SoCal. This is just marginalizing any reporting they disagree with, and is no different than blocking the NYT.
This is the Pravda Soros press trying to take down a legitimate news source. The Epoch Times has a circulation of 1,314,375 (higher than the New York Slimes). To label them as a “conspiracy website” is utterly absurd.

Yep. And the folks who established the paper came here to the USA to escape persecution, imprisonment and death in China. You know, like actual refugees, unlike the flood coming over our southern border for financial gain and free stuff. The MSM is just angry that anyone would dare reporting news that is not sourced from the AP, NYT, WaPo, or other left wing sources. Regardless of the race or faith of those who established the Epoch Times, they hate Communism, Socialism and religious persecution. Even more so, they support Trump, so they MUST be silenced.
I read their news and they are usually right on.
They've done great work dissecting the Trump witch hunt.
We subscribe to the Epoch Times. It is quite a fine paper. Far and away superior to the local rag we ditched years ago.

Okay, the big story here is they spent more than five minutes on the back story. Beyond that I’m not exactly buying in.
Hey, it’s their fault. I can’t believe these people any longer.
No kidding.
I am in Vietnam. I was sort of shocked when I got here.
I’ve lived in China and Taiwan, have vacationed in a number of countries around here.
But Vietnam is very nice.
More Americans should visit here.
Use care however, with travel.
It is completely unlike anything you’ve experienced before.
