But of course there are Jews not of that “breed”, as you call it. And many of what you would call “breeds” don’t get special protection.
And yes, they don't get that protection because they are not considered a "race" here in the US.
In other countries it is different and they are considered a separate group. The Saami, the Scots, the Slavs, the Basque, the Greeks and so forth are all considered different races in Europe and receive various special protections.
We think about races or breeds of people differently here. We generally think, "White, Black, Asian, American Indian". But inside those four general categories are a whole bunch of different groups.
