That's the way we used to do it. In December, 1927, Marion Parker, the teenage daughter of a Los Angeles banker was kidnapped and held for ransom. After the ransom was paid, he returned her dead body but was quickly apprehended. He was convicted and executed by hanging in the fall of '28.

Just checked....denied parole for another 10 years last March. Next parole hearing March 2029.
