Former Director: FBI ‘Not a Broken Institution,’ Criticizing It Threatens ‘Rule of Law’
Breitbart ^ | 12/16/19 | JOSHUA CAPLAN

Posted on 12/16/2019 10:56:43 AM PST by Enlightened1

Former CIA and FBI Director William Webster declared in an op-ed Monday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is not a “broken institution” and criticizing it threatens the “rule of law,” in an attempt to quell public outcry over agents’ misconduct during the 2016 election.

Webster’s full-throated defense of the two agencies comes amid the fallout from the Department of Justice Inspector General (IG) report, in which it was confirmed that FBI officials made 17 “significant inaccuracies and omissions” in its submissions to the FISA court to obtain warrants to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page during the 2016 presidential election.

“The rule of law is the bedrock of American democracy, the principle that protects every American from the abuse of monarchs, despots and tyrants. Every American should demand that our leaders put the rule of law above politics,” he added.

Webster then lashed out at President Donald Trump for criticizing the FBI over DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s findings, suggesting his remarks threaten the bureau’s independence. The former official expressed his full confidence in FBI Director Christopher Wray and said the notion that he could be removed from his post, akin to the bureau’s previous director, James Comey, “disturbs me greatly.”

Webster then took aim at the president for referring to anti-Trump FBI officials implicated in Horowitz’s report as “scum” and attempted to cast doubt on Attorney General William Barr’s independence, citing U.S. Attorney John Durham’s now-criminal investigation into the origins of the FBI’s Russia probe.

Maybe Webster can get the FBI to obey the rule of law.

Then we’ll settle down.

(Where do they find these people???)

I would like to see the FBI management team moved to Fairbanks Alaska as its new headquarters. I like the idea of a bunch of Virginia/DC swamp dwellers being told move near the Arctic Circle or loose your job.

I agree the FBI is still doing stellar work in all fields over which they have jurisdiction. However, they have totally lost the trust of the public and for good reason. Reasons everyone knows full well. The new leadership must own up to the horrendous crime committed by Comey and company, and then doing whatever necessary to convince the public corrective action taken will prevent it from ever happening again.

“The FBI has been turned upside down and is now a STASI like organization that breaks the law and oppresses and intimidates Americans.”

They should be hunted to extinction like the traitorous vermin that they are.

Rule of Law exists in a jury or Sheriff who are elected by the people.

FBI are the Enemy of the People.

Like the famous observation by Holmes about the "dog that didn't bark", how come no one is asking the most pertinent question, which is why hasn't Trump taken any action (yet)?

And the answer, of course, is because he can't. Not just from a legal perspective, but from a force stand-point. In other words, Trump doesn't have the backing of the MIC. It's why he can't take action against certain Senators sitting on the SCCI openly committing treason. It's why he cannot act against the FBI/CIA as they freely went about their business attempting to create a domestic color revolution. It's why he cannot call out the militia to enforce certain laws in regions and departments that are open rebellion.

I can go on, but why bother? The US public at this point of awareness is like a hog in the chute, moments away from the bolt gun. We may have finally figured it out, but it might be too late to do anything about it.

That is exactly what would be a good headline to see.

Sorry (not sorry) for the repost:

Ya think? Why don't we dial it all the way back to inception, and conclude based on what we now know that the FBI was established exactly for the purpose which has recently been revealed? Then, just like the "Federal" reserve and many other mockingbird institutions, a nice, soft, warm and fuzzy narrative was created in order to fool the people and get wide-scale buy in from the voting public. In one is curious about the effect of this massive gaslighting campaign, one can simply browse through many comments @ FR, where clever insults like FIB and declarations of never trusting the FBI again are common fare.

In one is being honest, the entire edifice is a joke; Trump is finding out the hard-way. Sometimes I wonder why I bother - the winners are clearly on the deep state side. They've got the brains, the resources, the desire and best of all, 50% of the voting population which has an IQ under 100. From an objective analysis, the question isn't how we got here, but how come it's taken this long for the deep state to get this far.

WHAT DAMN RULE OF LAW???

This former official is clueless as to reality.

At the federal level, at least since the rule of Obammy all of DC, every agency, counsel or pork belly regulators since long ago are just agents of the DNC.

He is part of it or just stump dumb.

What are needed is “South African” style “Reconciliation” Tribunals where people admit their guilt. Which will never happen because the libtards all know the First Rule of The Con. Never give up the con. So the one thing that might have a prayer of working the libtards will NEVER do. The default is always violence.

The FBI had the resources to play American Gestapo, raiding Roger Stone’s house at 5 am with 20 armed and armored agents, helicopter overhead and boat to guard an escape by an unarmed older man and his wife and just happened to tip off CNN so they could film it; all for a questionable nonviolent “offense”. Yet Clinton pal Epstein is guarded by sleeping employees, and the two cameras watching him aren’t working due to “lack of funds”. Sorry, Webster, the FBI is one sick. pompous and dirty corrupt organization badly in need of relocation to interior Nevada.

Actually, it is just as corrupt at the bottom. The whole stinking rotten criminal justice system needs to be reformed at the town, county, city and state level just as much as it does at the federal level. Do not kid yourself, it is ALL CORRUPT!!!!!
