Former FBI Director James Comey admitted on "Fox News Sunday" that the recently released Justice Department Inspector Generals report on the launch of the FBIs Russia investigation and their use of the surveillance process showed that he was "overconfident" when he defended his former agency's use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
This comes days after Inspector General Michael Horowitzs report and testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee detailed concerns that included 17 significant errors and omissions by the FBIs investigative team when applying for a FISA warrant to monitor former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Horowitz referred the entire chain of command to the FBI and DOJ for how to assess and address their performance failures during the probe, which was conducted while Comey was in charge.
IG HOROWITZ RIPS FBI 'FAILURE IN RUSSIA PROBE, SAYS NOBODY VINDICATED BY REPORT
"He's right, I was wrong," Comey said about how the FBI used the FISA process, adding, "I was overconfident as director in our procedures," and that what happened "was not acceptable."

He must also be referring to when he was pretending to be Attorney General telling us there was nothing wrong about Hillary’s private server.
James Comey is a meathead
NOT sincere! A lot of damaage was done because of him.
Barr is the “real deal”....by law, Barr can only do so much...wait for John Durham’s report...he can and has cast a much wider net so to speak....
Comedy should hang just on arrogance alone.
Lock
Him
UP!
The Durham investigation that should result in the indictments of Comey, McCabe and Brennen at the minimum are at least 3-6 months away. Barr is not going to interfere in that investigation and will leave the indictments up to Durham.
Be patient. Indicting Comey et al a few months before the 2020 election doesn't sound all that bad to me.
IOW, I’m throwing my underlings under the bus.
He cant shut up.
There, fixed it.
Comey is definitely totally comedic material.
A total JOKE.
What happened to "The report vindicated me!"?
Comey reported to people above him. Will he be willing to fall on his sword for them? I dobut that he will. This could get interesting.
A cop who lies to get a warrant is a dirty cop. Draw your own conclusions.
Durham won't issue a report.
He will issue indictments.
My big blue eyes. The only thing he was overconfident about was getting away with the fraud. The fraud he knew absolutely everything about.
Who represents the target before the FISA court? Who defends the constitutional rights before the court?
He handed the President the Steele dossier knowing that the British intelligence had sent a letter to him saying it was a hoax. In a JW case the letter was named as evidence to be produced by the FBI, and came back ‘missing’.
Well, auto spell got me again, but in this case its pretty accurate.
