I think Trump knows the end game and is strategically planning how much goes into trial and then the true end game of unwrapping everything to deal the death low to Dems and ensure his re-election where he can continue to drain the swamp

Agree that timing is everything. Trump holds all the cards. It is just a matter as to how to play them and when. The closer we get to the election, the more effective they will be. Trump also has to wait to see who his opponent will be.

I can understand the wisdom of having a short Senate trial followed by a verdict of not guilty. Will the calling of the whistleblower and Schiff be counterproductive and open Pandora's box?

Trey Gowdy has speculated that the real target of the Dems is to take control of the Senate. The Reps have 23 Senate seats up in 2020 compared to 12 for the Dems. Will vulnerable senators like Gardner, McSalley, Collins, and Tillis see an acquittal vote as a political albatross around their necks? I could see it also being a problem for some of the Dems up in 2020 like Shaheen (NH), Peters MI), Jones (AL), and Smith (MN).

We can see which way he is voting. He is not up for reelection in 2020. His vote could come back to bite him in the future however.

FYI-brother in Toronto has been waiting for 10 months to get a hip MRI.

After a routine chest x-ray revealed an anomaly, the results came on Saturday, I had a CT scan the next Monday, and a PET scan two weeks later.

Try that with socialized medicine.

When I was a younger man I had my butt grabbed more than once by women.

Yeah, I had similar experiences back in the 70s when I was a studly young single man.

But I'm a man. I think when a man touches a woman without her consent, he should draw back a stump where his arm used to be.

Well, I see what you’re saying and I agree, and never said otherwise, but let’s not split hairs. I was referring to the Graham hearing as a bust. So let me clear that up.

The fight is going to be over the hearts and minds of the Independents and mushy middle.

None of Horowitz’s hearing changed a single Pro-Trump or Never Trump mind, nor the rabid Left.

Remember how the rabid Left went nuts after the Mueller Report was dropped and tried to claim that, “Yeah, he didn’t charge Trump, but there’s tons of crimes in it, because he didn’t exonerate the President.”

We all laughed at them. My point would be to use the Horowitz report for the likely crimes that were committed, but we can’t cite them as crimes solely on Horowitz’s hearing answers. The crimes will need more investigation and actual charges. What Horowitz dropped was a bunch of lose ends we need a prosecutor (Durham) to tie together.

So you and I are in agreement.

It’s the ARREST that IS ludicrous. I ponder what would happen today if the soldier who kissed the chick at end of WW2((famous pic) happened today.

Yup. Comey even told Clapper, “Mission accomplished.”

Comey’s response was when asked point blank by Fox News’ Bret Baier why he only notified Trump about parts of the dossier.

“Why didn’t you tell Trump more? Why didn’t you tell Trump that Hillary had paid for the dossier? Why didn’t you tell Trump that the dossier was not verified and had not been corroborated?” Baier asked.

“That wasn’t my mission,” Comey answered. “My mission was to only reveal that part of the dossier.”

Much of your essay takes me back almost 4 decades when the Gipper took down the mighty Soviet Union. Trump’s brilliant negotiations with China will mark both the decline of the Reds and their corrupt party and, incredibly the birth of a worldwide trade power....CHINA. Under British control Hong Kong was the ultimate in free enterprise development. Everything was possible. If you wanted a custom tailored suit, new custom dress shoes and a half dozen dress shirts with your initials embroidered on your cuffs all could be done in 48 hours or less. Many of the Chinese in Hong Kong worked relentlessly when they were allowed to retain some of their profits. Anything you wanted in the world was available virtually tax free. Now Imagine 1000 Hong Kongs with uninhibited free trade and explosive entrepreneurialism. Thanks to Trump, the people of China are on the verge of an exciting new world without the chains of communism. The reciprocal benefit to America is obvious as we feed and supply the growing Chinese economy. Yes, so many parallels to what Reagan accomplished defeating the Soviets to now Trump’s tactical decision to avoid a continued trade war with China. Millions and millions of Chinese will work their tails off on their own farms and businesses as they reject the communist party.

Yes, you might recall Conservative Alberta leader Stephen Harper, the PM of Canada was ousted from govt in the 2015 Canadian federal election. He lost by popular vote to Justin Trudeau. Justin got all his support from Quebec, Ontario( primarily Toronto) and some Atlantic provinces, based on his father’s name.
Justin was a part-time drama teacher. Stephen Harper was an educated economist, who is a huge Trump supporter.
Think of the possibilities for Canada (had Harper prevailed), with Trump in office.

What a BS response. I count several lies that he states as fact.

President Trump pressured President Zelensky to open an investigation into former Vice President Joseph Biden Jr. and his son, Hunter Biden, as well as an investigation into unsubstantiated claim that the allegations of Russia’s interference in the 2016 U.S. election originated in Ukraine.

He did NOT pressure. Even Zelensky has said so. As the recipient of the call, he has the definitive word on whether he was "pressured". Don't give us that "He had to because Trump is the superior or he's a hostage" BS. That's NOT factual. Zelensky's words are.

The unsubstantiated claim is VERY WELL substantiated. Re: Rudy Giuliani's recent statements and OAN's investigation. Calling it unsubstantiated is proof you are in the thrall of CNN, NYT, MSNBC, Bezos Post, et al who continuously promotes this lie.

The complaint outlines a month-long scheme by President Trump and his personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, to convince Ukraine’s government to open investigations ...

The "months long scheme" was solely hatched by Adam Schitt, his committee, and "Charley" Ciaremella, who has committed multiple crimes and will eventually be charged, God willing. And the NCS Intel IG is also implicated.

We know the facts because the President released the call and the Ukraine President has now replied.

As a former Special Prosecutor, I strongly believe that no one is above the law including our elected officials.

Yeah, no one. Including Adam Schitt, Eric Ciaremella, James Comey, Peter Stuck, James Clapper, John Brennan and above all, Barack Obama. Also, Ron, since you suffer with telling the truth, as a special prosecutor, maybe someone needs to thoroughly investigate your convictions and acquittals and see how many were tainted or you were bribed on.

GFYS, Ron!

Exactly right. It takes a businessman to understand leverage and is what he is being impeached for using leverage to find what and how much corruption in Ukraine.

I have Dem relatives that are furious over some states (NY, cough, cough) giving ILLEGALS drivers licenses.

They get what they vote for, I know, but I’m thinking a LOT of moderate Dems have had it with this catering to illegals.

I really didn’t know about the arrest.

Seems a bit much.

And being on a permanent sex offenders list is really over the top.
