An updated version of the Justice Department inspector general’s report revealed the FBI opened a counterintelligence investigation in October 2016 on an alleged source for the Steele dossier.
The FBI opened up a counterintelligence investigation in October 2016 against a Belarusian-American businessman who Christopher Steele said was an unwitting source for his infamous anti-Trump dossier, according to a newly unredacted version of a Justice Department inspector general’s report.
The FBI failed to disclose the investigation against the alleged source — called Person 1 in the report — to Justice Department attorney and in applications submitted to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) surveillance warrants against former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
The most damning item was that the FBI knew that Carter Page had been working with US intel agencies, and they used his lawful contacts as proof that he had colluded with Russia! Despicable. Who would ever want to work with our intel agencies after such terrible treatment? Those who signed off on that betrayal should be fired.
It’s actually not uncommon to use information from one criminal to get a warrant on another suspect but you have to let the court know so they can weigh the credibility. Hiding these facts is a fraud on the court.

That’s because they knew the Carter Page investigation was fake. This other one might have been real.

so George P didn’t say anything about e-mails with Downer in May....just said Russians had “dirt on Clinton” ...Downer didn’t say anything until July when the the DNC e-mails went public....Downer then ASSUMED that George P must of been talking about the e-mails...so that is when he went to the FBI....and all this was started over that???

All this should be brought up go subpoenaed witnesses before the Sen. Judiciary Committee ASAP. Subpoena all FBI and DOJ personnel involved in the FISA application affair. None excused.
Still trying to CYA in delayed or hidden information.
