The Supreme Court Judge (who presides over the impeachment trial) could look at the two charges and say that, in each case, they are within the power of the executive branch and rule the impeachment null and void . . . end of story.

After some contemplation of the merits - and the potential consequences - I lean toward a quick dismissal. Then hold hearings for the true misconduct of his enemies. This places a needed separation between Trump, his enemies, and their misdeeds.

A trap is set and waiting. But it’s not for Trump.

I have also reluctantly come to agree. There are far too many closet traitors in the Senate.

I think also that the Dems would go apeshit and never be able to focus on or talk about anything but that between now and the election. Which would probably work against them, very bad optics.

There are some traitors in the Republican Party who would vote for Trump’s removal. Romney comes to mind. But not 20 of them.

This article is, I believe, a scare tactic to get Trump supporters in the Senate to toss out the case without having a trial. In a trial, key Democrats, and probably a few Republicans, are in danger of having some light cast on activities that would make them uncomfortable.

So, if I understand this guy, he thinks it is more likely that 20 GOP vote to impeach after hearing weeks of testimony that not merely debunks the House's charade, but also exposes Schiff for the fraud he is, than if they just go for a quick dismissal?

I'd prefer Trump to go for the jugular. Expose the corruption. The chips fall where they may. The risk is worth it, no?

They have him by his adopted-from-Ireland children.

The 'Ratz have no morals at all.

They used this threat before over ObamaCare.

Any way you cut it, a trial legitimatizes the biased, unfair, and fabricated charges. A trial will include Democrat Senators spewing their same usual crap to an adoring press and that, not Trumps side of the story is all you’ll hear on MSM and cable. And I want Humper Biden’s ass in a real courtroom where he goes to jail not as a school play intended to humiliate a family that is beyond humiliation.

It will be a short “trial” followed by a vote to acquit, over and done with as quickly as possible.

If nothing else, everyone should understand that information presented at a Senate trial about spygate conspirators would only serve to compromise their eventual prosecution in a real court after Durham’s work is finished.

You’re right. Any Republican Senator who hurts the president knows he’d better build a bunker and stay down there.

Q: Why would the DemonRat House risk exposure of their criminal conspiracies caused by a protracted trial in the Senate?

A: Perhaps the House knows there are scores of Republicans in the Senate who are knee deep in said crimes.

I agree. Trump can talk all he wants and Barry can investigate AFTER the Senate acquits..

If that were the only means available, you would be right, but there are other investigations going on and no reason why there can't be more triggered by the findings.

I have worried about the Senate pulling a fast one for this reason: They HATE Trump and they may think that we will scream...but do little.

They may think they can preserve the status quo by steamrollering us and plugging their ears.

It'll be like "repeal every word", but with sharp edges and blunt objects. Live. On the Capitol steps.
