Just in.
What Congress passes as a crime may "relative" or random, but "crime" is what the Constitution or what federal statute says is a crime. Otherwise, you're truly living in anarchy as well as tyranny. Anybody can accuse you of anything - Jacobean Reign of Terror revisited.
It’s “high crimes” and “misdemeanors” (Art. II, Sec. 4) which currently means “low crimes”. I’ll have to research to see what “misdemeanors” meant at ratification.
I’ve heard there’s been a decades-long hate-hate relationship between Nadler and Trump. The GOP guys should have demanded him to recuse due to bias.
Again, what happened to Chase?
That Congress was certainly FAR closer to the Founding Documents than any of us is. Yet they impeached the judge. Because he showed “bias” in SC rulings. Not sure where “bias” counts as a “crime”.
Either way, how is it total “anarchy” when there is MORE to this process than just Dems voting on “impeachment” (charges)? It’s not as simple as voting no-confidence; not only must hundreds of reps be convinced to vote yea, but Senators must also decide to vote “guilty” as well.
Maybe what they did was unconstitutional. Dunno. Don’t really know the facts and details of the case.
As I said, I’m researching the original understanding of the term “misdemeanors”.
I would encourage everyone to:
(1) Calm down
(2) Research the Andrew Johnson impeachment
That impeachment was totally political and a complete farce.
“Historians”, the mass media and Democrats don’t want you to know about it—which means, you need to know about it!
They are just trying to bully him. He don’t bully.
The two main FAKE narratives in the 2018 mid-terms were Mueller/Russia and manufactured crisis. Both were BS from candidates and their slobbering media enablers.
Dems should NOT have won the house. Impeachment should NOT be happening.
This would only apply to federal elections.
States are free to inflict whatever chaos they want on local and state elections.
Heck, they are even free to have two ballots:
One with only state issues and state/local candidates where anyone capable of fogging a mirror, or not, can vote.
One with Federal offices, where the voters are known to be alive, citizens, residents of the precinct, who are adults, and haven't lost their franchise through criminal convictions.
Thank you. Several people contributed to it.
You might want to check out Ann Coulter’s book, then.
You have to consider that we’re basically doing the opposite of the Clinton years.
Oliver North was promoting his new book, and talked a bit about this impeachment a couple of weeks ago. He thought that the House would vote to impeach.
The Senate will vote no.
The House will switch to the GOP in the next election.
And Trump is elected president again.
From Ollie’s mouth to God’s ear!
I heard Jerry Nadler did that in front of a young intern. She called the cops but the D.A. said it was such a small misdemeanor, it was under the size to prosecute.
interesting
For the first time in a long time this country has had a president who really cares about the country
After these 3 years what else are they going make up? They have cried wolf a few too many times.
Don’s teflon is now baked on. T.c
I am just hoping now it will be through the entire Senate so that President Trump and his attorneys can question the accusers and liars.
Have your damn impeachment. Republicans better make it all about Soetoro, the Clintons and the Bidens.
