Jerry Nadler, in Surprise Move, Postpones Vote on Articles of Impeachment
Breitbart ^ | 12 Dec 2019 | JOEL B. POLLAK

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) surprised his colleagues and the media by announcing late Thursday night that the votes on articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump would be postponed until 10:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Republicans exploded in outrage. Ranking Member Doug Collins (D-GA) protested angrily that the sudden schedule change had not been discussed with the opposition.

Other Republicans interjected, as Nadler gaveled the hearing closed. “Stalinist!” Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX) shouted. Others said that Nadler’s move was symbolic of the arbitrary rule they had come to expect on the committee.

Reporters were also stunned. “We are genuinely surprised, all of us,” MSNBC anchor Brian Williams said. Correspondent Garrett Haake agreed, noting that there had been “genuine anger” from Republicans at being blindsided.

Collins vented his frustration as the cameras rolled. “Chairman Nadler’s integrity is zero. His staff is zero,” Collins told the press. “That was the most Bush-league play I have ever seen in my life, because they just want to get in front of the camera.”

Everyone — Democrats, Republicans, and journalists — had expected a vote, after a debate that began at 7:00 p.m. the night before, continued well into the night, reconvened at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, and ended at about 11:15 p.m.

That jackass in Virginia isn’t helping Nads.

The Left is overplaying its hand at many levels, and even the libtards are getting annoyed.

Trump knew this all along, I suspect he and Pelosi even discussed it behind closed doors. It’s all Kabuki Theater.
Who's the douche fool in this picture?

For the answer, look in a mirror.

Nadler wants to talk over the final scenes in this drama with Nancy and the leadership.

If this effort is doomed even before the start in the Senate, it might be well to never even let it get there. That way, there is no big trial with the Republicaans orchestrating all the embarrassing testimony (for the Democrats), the records of the investigation are all sealed and kept away from Republican scrutiny, etc., etc.

If it comes to the floor of the House, there will be a vote and a lot of freshmen Democratic representatives will be on the spot. The rumored number of defecting might even be enough to have the impeachment motion fail to pass. If they do stay loyal and pass the impeachment, all those vulnerable Democrat House representatives will now have their loyalty votes to impeach hung around their necks in the next election. The Republicans will flail them down to raw muscle and bone during the election cycle.

The Democrats may be able to save at least some of those seats if the full House never has to vote. The way to make that happen is to have the impeachment effort fail in committee. It would only take a few veteran Democrats (hopefully already planning on retiring from safe districts) voting against impeachment to end the matter and maybe even offer a censure resolution as an alternative. Those Democrats need to be identified and paid off since this vote, necessary as it may be, is not going to be understood by the party fanatics and will make their reelection impossible. Some sort of compensation for what they will go through is going to be required. If this is going to happen, the players and the price is being worked out right now.

This is just speculation but a failing impeachment vote in committee tomorrow morning would be pretty convenient.

BTW, JEDNCS

Yah I agree...this will be the easiest out for them. They'll vilify Trump but vote against it saying the nation has gone through enough and they will let the Democratic process play out and fight against his re-election blah blah bhal...

I suspect your right. Jabba the Hut saw what was happening across the pond. Also the Dems do not have the votes.

The Democrats are getting pounded in the polls over impeachment, even in blue states. Maybe some are starting to get cold feet.

I’m wondering, it’s just a thought, but I’m wondering if the UK election results had a bit of sobering effect on the Rats? There’s a strong Westerly Wind blowing. Might portend of things to come here in the jolly old USA.

I pray you are correct.

I’m sure they have the votes in committee. Probably straight party line, though losing even 1 would be highly embarrassing. I suspect they just want it to be covered on live TV, then the media will have one last chance to make the sale.

There is a slim possibility that they are reading the tea leaves and having second thoughts. Having seemingly LOST public support, despite a one sided and rigged process. They have already watered it down to just 2 weak and nebulous charges, still failing to close the deal with voters. Surely they see that a Senate trial, under the control of Mitch McConnell, will be an absolute disaster for them. Add in Trump trade victories with China and USMCA, a booming economy, and the big win for UK Conservatives.

Still, I suspect they are beyond the point of no return. Full speed ahead, next stop, impeachment.
