The bill provides for a massive boost in military spending compared to 2019 — an increase of $22 billion — and authorizes the creation of a Space Force, a sixth branch of the military that Trump has pushed for.
The final draft of the legislation also excluded language progressive Democrats like Khanna have championed, including measures aimed at ending US support for the Saudi-led coalition in the Yemen war, placing restrictions on the use of military funds for the president's border wall project, and requiring congressional approval for any military action against Iran, among other provisions.
Trump on Wednesday tweeted: "Wow! All of our priorities have made it into the final NDAA: Pay Raise for our Troops, Rebuilding our Military, Paid Parental Leave, Border Security, and Space Force! Congress — don't delay this anymore! I will sign this historic defense legislation immediately!"

I think that they know they really pooped the bed with impeachment and they are trying to counter the obvious fact that they are partisan hacks that did nothing for three years by doing some stuff that (alas) makes Trump look good but that they too can point to and say “see, we’re not only about impeachment! Send us back in 2021, please!”
For some reason they agree that they love spending hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars.
They would have done that, anyway - and will again, given half a chance.

The entire party runs on polls and public opinion, and public opinion hasn’t been too kind to them in the past couple months. Especially when it comes to legislative accomplishments. The American public want more then “orange man bad” and they have no problem replacing the new dems they just elected in 2018 in 2020

Cause Americans want it, they see that it works and it does provide safety for all involved.
All President Trump had to do was build some sections of new wall, show that it works and the American public would fall in line and support.
The Dems are all about power, if they see not supporting the wall as a way to lose the power they have, they will have to retool and support the wall (quietly so they don’t piss off the radicals)
