A small group of House Democrats fearful of their re-election prospects has revived the idea of censuring President Trump instead of impeaching him, according to a report out Tuesday.
The Democrats, all repping districts Trump won in 2016, met Monday afternoon to consider their options, no matter how slim, as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had already put the kibosh on censure, Politico reported.
The lawmakers, about 10, included Reps. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, Kurt Schrader of Oregon, Ben McAdams of Utah and Anthony Brindisi of upstate New York.
A poll last week by GOP pollster John McLaughin Associates found that 54 percent of voters in Brindisi’s district opposed impeachment while only 39 percent supported it.
“I think it’s certainly appropriate and might be a little more bipartisan, who knows,” Schrader said Tuesday when asked about censure.

What’s the upside for the GOP in voting for censure? To save Democrats from political oblivion?
The Democrats are screwed by impeachment and they have to live with the consequences. They made their bed and have to lie down in it.
Its not our concern whether they’ll be able to keep the House. What’s the old saying?
What comes around goes around and Republicans could care less about Democrat political self-interest. Which is all about them.
They started it and they should see it through. We’re not going to give them political cover for something they shouldn’t have done in the first place.
Censure for what?
They can’t even tell us what Trump is guilty of. A man should know for what he’s going to be hanged.
Come on demonrats, pull that knife across your throat, take the vote.

Those Democrats have another option. Vote present. This way they are not voting on impeachment and can then lie to their constituents and say they voted not to impeach Trump.
The CONSTITUTION and the FOUNDERs require her to put up an impeach vote.
But they are very sad about it, so sad.
Trump made them do it.

They can’t say what’s wrong with Trump because it will blow them out of congress and out of any legitimate public trust for many years to come.
And that’s because the answer is “Trump is a conservative in the White House and he’s making success for this country by correcting liberal mistakes by president that were voted in for the wrong reasons since Kennedy.
I figured when Trump was elected he was going to be something different from anything the main stream politicians had ever seen, i.e., a businessman not a compromising politician. And, boy howdy, is he. And it is what this country has needed for many years going back beyond FDR to the basics of what this country really is. And people all over the nation are feeling good about it. Hope in 2020 they’ll want more of this pride. I think they will. And in 2024, he’ll be a hard act to follow.
