They are appointed for Life, although they can retire at 65 with a full salary. So when they decide to retire, or die, and the president gets to appoint a replacement.

That’s all I know. I’m trying to find out how many vote at one time, doesn’t seem like all 29 would.

So if the President were to change retirement age and move it in line with Social Security retirement age, and walk back the pension from ... 100% to ~60% in one year steps ... over the next year or so ...

Then we would know who the committed ideologues are, and who are the lovers of money and pride.

But these are mostly lawyers so it may not tell us anything positive after all.
