Bible in a Year:
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 20:7
Fear ruled a mans life for thirty-two years. Afraid of being caught for his crimes, he hid at his sisters farmhouse, going nowhere and visiting no one, even missing his mothers funeral. When he was sixty-four, he learned that no charges had ever been filed against him. The man was free to resume a normal life. Yes, the threat of punishment was real, but he allowed the fear of it to control him.
Likewise, fear ruled the Israelites when the Philistines challenged them at the Valley of Elah. The threat was real. Their enemy Goliath was 9 feet 9 inches tall and his body armor alone weighed 125 pounds (1 Samuel 17:45). For forty days, every morning and evening, Goliath challenged the Israelite army to fight him. But no one dared come forward. No one until David visited the battle lines. He heard and saw the taunting, and volunteered to fight Goliath.
While everyone in the Israelite army thought Goliath was too big to fight, David the shepherd boy knew he wasnt too big for God. He said, the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lords (v. 47).
When were gripped by fear, lets follow Davids example and fix our eyes on God to gain a right perspective of the problem. The threat may be real, but the One who is with us and for us is bigger than that which is against us.
What giant battle are you facing thats crippling you in fear? How can you intentionally fix your eyes on the living God?
Thank You, God, that Youre bigger than any other giant in my life. I trust You.

Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
WOO-HOO, thanks for remembering and honoring our Troops, Kathy!
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
We just might make it to the weekend!
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...is weather still unreliable?
Ours can’t decide whether to rain or snow. I think we are gonna get a few days of neither. That would be a pleasant surprise.
Thanks, Pro...hope you had a good work day.
Well...I woke up to blizzard conditions, and the car under 6” of snow.
So I cleaned it off, walked the dog, had breakfast, and did my Bible Study.
Then I went out and shoveled another 6” off my car, walkway, and elderly neighbors’ stairs so “Meals-on-Wheels” could get to them today.
After which I had to brush off my car again. Suddenly, the sun came out and melted everything, so I went out to buy two guitar amplifiers for Santa to deliver to my nephews for Christmas. (Santa wasn’t sure what kind to buy and so relied upon my expertise).
Then, all the melted snow froze solid due to plunging temps.
After teaching a late lesson, I came home, walked the dog again, and changed into my jammies.
And here we are.
I woke up to about an inch of snow but it's mostly gone now.
How's your snow situation?
Thank you
Lots of snow and cold here today
Hurry for the sun....but it could have come out a bit earlier so you didn’t have to shovel and reshovel.
I HATE driving on icy roads
That was so kind of you to give Santa a helping hand. You are on the “nice” list for sure!
Very little snow...the rain took it all. I can see grass in my yard, and only ice on my deck.
