Trump mocks impeachment effort, talks up trade deal at rally in swing state Pennsylvania

President Donald Trump mocked Democrats for the articles of impeachment they unveiled against him Tuesday as he sought to rally supporters in the key swing state of Pennsylvania, calling the effort “impeachment lite” and promising that it would lead to his reelection in 2020.

Trump’s visit to Pennsylvania followed a momentous day at the U.S. Capitol, where Democrats unveiled articles of impeachment and shortly thereafter signaled their support for the president’s long-sought reworked the United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Democrats are trying to show they can pass legislation and pursue an impeachment inquiry at the same time, but Trump said they’re just trying to minimize impeachment.

"It plays down the impeachment because they’re embarrassed by the impeachment,” he said. “And our poll numbers have gone through the roof because of her stupid impeachment.”

He added: “The silver lining of impeachment and this witch hunt: That’s the reason they approved USMCA. So that’s OK with me.”

I would say easily 75,000 folks participated. Not bad for a Tuesday night.

Articles were filed, and he drew 21,000 at a rally immediately after.

That’s not a President the general population wants impeached.

If you think the situation is strained now, it’s gong to get just plain bizarre and awkward between now and the scheduled vote.

The problem for the Democrats Is that’s its a loser for their base and its united and energized enraged Republicans behind the President.

They’re better off dropping it. These are the folks who worship the polls and there’s no upside to it for them.

No matter what they do, Trump wins.

And Trump was in fighting-form at Hershey! Even more energetic than he usually is at these rallys.

It’s going to send a chill through the hearts of insane Dems.

Republicans are united. And House members got some terrific publicity during this impeachment charade.

I spend a lot of time in the Huffer comments section. These are not people who are thinking rationally our strategically. The level of rage at the president, you’d think he had their whole families killed. I’m fine if they want to impeach him. We’ll make them pay, just as we made them pay for their similarly stupid strategy of filibustering Gorsuch after the election.

The level of rage at the president, you’d think he had their whole families killed.

That is something that his been bothering me. Some of the people in my office, when they heard that the impeachment charges had been laid, made a comment about this being great since he was so guilty. I asked one of them exactly what President Trump was guilty of. The guy just glared at me and stomped off.

What in the world is eating at them so bad that they only seem to hate, can't even say one word about why.
