Gun violence continues to be a growing problem in Philadelphia and more and more young people are being impacted. So far this year, 110 children have been injured or killed as a result of gun violence.
On Tuesday night, community members gathered at a town hall meeting aimed at fighting gun violence that’s striking the city’s youth. It’s become a tipping point for many young people throughout Philadelphia.
So now a few dozen young people are gathering in hopes of curbing the violence plaguing those under 18.
“We have to wake them up and get them in the rooms to hear what they have to say,” Warren Upchurch, with the nonprofit New Options More Opportunity, said.

Ghetto retards with no chance of ever becoming useful to society. I’ve been in North Philly and Chester numerous times. These “people” are never going to change and are complete trash.
Almost everyone in our small town owns guns, no “gun violence” here. I think urban cultures real problem is “gang violence.”

Nobody talks about gang violence anymore. It’s all caused by the guns now.

Isn’t that that the truth. Hardcore teenage rapster gangbangers shooting each other with guns owned illegally and they blame it on your average law abiding gun owner. No “teens” around here shooting anyone. Just playing football and fishing for trout.
Fighting back with what? Guns? They are wild and no compass in life. They should be forced into military service to get some direction...and free guns.
They’re not killed by “violence” — they’re killed by people with no self control and a huge sense of entitlement. Usually raised by single mothers. They are one reason why conservatives need their guns.
The funny thing is - there’s zero need for anyone to get involved in any kind of social or political movement. All they have to do is provide information to the cops. Shootings in black areas go unpunished because nobody saw anything, even though they occur in busy urban environments.
