The FBI on Saturday night officially identified the suspect in a Friday shooting at a naval air base in Florida as a Saudi Royal Air Force second lieutenant.
The FBI's Jacksonville branch told The Hill in an email that the shooter was Mohammed Alshamrani, 21.
The organization described him as a "2nd LT in the Royal Saudi Air Force who was a student naval flight officer of Naval Aviation Schools Command."
The FBI is not currently aware of any additional threats to Pensacola.
Three people and the shooter were killed and several additional people were injured in a shooting Friday at the air base.

Agreed
Good for you!!
Why should we?!?!?
What’s the reason now?? there was a reason before, I guess. Oil.
We DONT need them.
What are they gonna defeat Iran in a war??
No, they want us to do it.
I HATE those countries
“The FBI is not currently aware of any additional threats to Pensacola.”
yeah, we noticed
Some news source said that he’d been there just a couple of weeks. So I doubt that he’d gone past the simulators.
By the time he is ready to announce his decision, Hillary Clinton will chime in saying "what difference does it make at this time?".
If the FBI were asked the question a week previously, they could have said the same thing.
The leaders of many nations and their richest constituents do want to disarm Americans for obvious reasons. Our private arms in the hands of civilians are our defense against foreign invasion and foreign control.
I’m not characterizing Defense Secretary Mark Esper as someone with a functioning brain “at this time.”
Saudi Arabia is not an “ally”. They are a customer. And that customer can be trained...IN Saudi Arabia. There is no reason they need to kick the tires over here.
Viva la Saudi & America allyship
Saudi Arabia is not an ally. They are a customer.

911 and Pensacola common items.
1) Attackers came from Saudi Arabia
2) Florida was the training area
3) Flight training
Will the FBI will cover up this attack too?
When my youngest was in college, ahe said there were many Saudis in her classes. Has anyone else had that experience?
any secdef purporting this is not terrorism
works for the terrorists and against this country.
There's a whole lot of things they aren't aware of.
The FBI is not currently aware of any additional threats to Pensacola.
If there are still Saudis around [or any other mooslimes], there are additional threats.
We should ask them to withdraw all their people from our bases immediately. Quietly is ok...but they need to go.
The arms in the hands of civilians are our defense against the same thing as they were in 1776 - our own government. When you cut through all of the history and haze, in the end, the American Revolution started when British troops moved to take the weapons of their own subjects. 200+ years later, we are now American CITIZENS while the British people are still SUBJECTS.
Foreign countries don’t want us to give up our weapons so they can invade or control us; they want us to give up our weapons so our own government can control us. The Founding Fathers recognized this and that is why the right to bear arms is the second amendment - before many other important ones. As the saying goes, the second amendment protects all of the others.
You’re right; there is no reason to support Saudi Arabia against Iran - the Saudis can buy another army (preferably Muslims).
After the Romans were crushed by the German tribes in the Teutoburg Forest, they accepted they could never conquer Germany. At that point they resorted to simply supporting one German tribe against the other, preferring to arm the weaker side as to maximize the number of Germans killed on both sides.
I always thought our policy in the Middle East was a similar arrangement, but Saudi is an outlier; after 15 of them planned and staged 9/11, it should have been clear that our plans there weren’t working.
