CNN has updated its report that President Trump continues to use his personal cell phone to make calls, despite repeated concerns expressed by his staff that such phone calls leave the president vulnerable to surveillance by foreign governments.
In a tweet on Saturday, President Trump called upon "Fake News" CNN to retract the story that he describes as "totally false information and reporting." Trump also tweeted that he hasn't "had a personal cell phone for years" and only uses "government approved and issued phones."

One of the authors of the report responded to the president's tweet, stating CNN is standing by its report.

But CNN did, however, update the original story to include "more information about the cell phones the President uses." What CNN apparently meant by "personal cell phone" is actually a government-approved cell phone that has been issued for the President to use. The report appears misleading at best because a government-approved phone that has been assigned to the president isn't exactly what comes to mind when people think about Trump's "personal cell phone."
So CNN thinks it's newsworthy that Trump is actually using a cell phone the government gave him to use? No wonder their ratings are in the tank.
When CNN reports about a Republican or Conservative using some government resource for “personal” use, ask yourself — did they ever report about a Democrat doing the same?
So it was okay when 0 refused to use a govt phone...

Hellary used her government phone and email to schedule yoga classes and to check on her grandchildren and to send top secret documents to her maid to copy. Not one demonrat’s eyebrow was raised.
I am sure HRC’s 2020 campaign pushed this story to CNN so they can say “see everyone does it.”
No problem that Hilly used a NON-government Blackberry, despite being warned not to .... and of course, there was the infamous ‘secret’ non-government server. CNN needs to do a story on THAT before I’ll read anything on Trump (which will be fake news, of course).
And it was OK Hillary was connected to over 100 blackberries that automatically download their contents to anyone close by on her network, or that she smashed 30 of them to keep the contents secret. But once again, Trump using an authorized phone means “Orange Man Bad”. Really, I’m so over it.
If that certain person identified only by a letter between P and R is to be believed, Trump has two cell phones. One he only used for tweets, and one that is used for official secure government business.
Foreign?! He should be more worried about domestic government agencies commonly know as the Deep State.
Maybe that's why they want him to use a government approved phone: it already has the latest spyware installed and is easier for the CIA to hack...

It seems that if he had used a personal cell, CNN or somebody would have intercepted the signal. As I recall that’s what happened to Newt Gingrich.
Did CNN ever get their panties in a wad when Hillary destroyed 33,000 government emails that had been subpoenaed, along with her cell phones which were hammered to destroy them?
I think it's the worst thing ever reported about our great President that was true. If I ever have dinner with him and only get one scoop, I'm going to ask Melania if I can have three scoops!
