The Saudis treated them like family and he had never been treated so well in any country anywhere in his life. I know Saudi is really trying to set up a tourism program.

A few years ago I had a minor business dealing with a few Saudi nationals. They were very polite to me, always smiling. But here’s the thing. They were polite like a stereotypical used car salesman would be polite.
Nothing about them seemed genuine.
I was in Israel a couple of months ago, and yes, Saudi is trying to get tourists - just normal human beings, not only people making the hadj - and Is also working out various agreements with Israel. So they’ve got to get a grip on their jihadi freak population ASAP, particularly those in the military (who I think have already tried to stage a coup against the current leadership).
