(CNN)For the first time, Muhammad is one of the top 10 most popular baby names for boys in the United States, according to data from the parenting website BabyCenter.

Muhammad ranks at No. 10, up four spots from last year. The name has been climbing steadily on BabyCenter's rankings over the years and first entered the top 100 in 2013.

"Muslim families often choose Muhammad for firstborn sons to honor the prophet and bring blessings to the child," Linda Murray, BabyCenter's global editor in chief, said in a news release. "The name also has multiple spellings, and that helps a name get into the top 10."

And, in incredible coincidence, the nation’s Intelligence Quotient dropped by a record 10 points...

Thanks be to Obama!

You are assuming people who call themselves Christians, and indeed, Christians. Our national culture doesn't bare that out as proof.

There is a reason the term "evangelical" came to describe a certain people group when "Christian" became less than useful.

How many people do you know who are compelled to live out the Bible and eliminate sin in their lives (here's looking at you John Owen) every day? Those are Christians. And they are very few.

I don’t keep a tally of how many Christians have eliminated sin from their daily lives.

It is very difficult to believe, but I suppose a lot of Woke-types may do this as a virtue signal.

It's from the Irish and was picked up as a first name for boys some years back.

Disney (and its subsidiary Pixar) made it a girl's name. That's power.

Something similar happened with "Taylor."

Linda Murray, BabyCenter's global editor in chief...

Linda, once one of the most popular girl's names, has fallen out of favor. I work in a school district and have seen hundreds of names on student roll sheets, and I don't recall seeing a single Linda. For that matter, I haven't seen many Muhammads either.

I've never heard of the movie, but I always wondered why so many girls were named Madison. It's boys that are usually given presidential names--think Washington Irving, Jefferson Davis, Lincoln Steffens, Chester Arthur Burnett (aka Howlin' wolf), McKinley Kantor, Kennedy Polamalu, etc.

Official Social Security baby name data:

https://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/babyname.cgi

https://www.ssa.gov/oact/babynames/

Lots of data there. Muhammad ranked 345 in 2018 and ranked 620 in 2000.

From CNN? I bet this is a lie being put forth to get liberals and other such dummies to name their children Mohammad.

CNN is straight up propaganda 24, 7, 365.
