I hate to be a supreme pessimist here, IF the Court takes the cases, and IF RBG passes before the decision, the trial court orders to produce will stand and President Trump will lose on a 4-4 vote.

It's only 4-4 if Roberts sides with the liberals. Would Roberts side with the liberals over Trump's tax returns?
That would set a precedent for the privacy rights of all future Presidents. I don't think Roberts wants that on his legacy, which is already bad enough.
